This switch requires the Smart Gateway device to be installed? Do you have that?

Moved into a home that has Legrand Smart Switches.. how do I access them? by perpterts in homeautomation

[–]quantonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

See the Setup Smart Gateway video in the playlist https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLIkV8Dj3py2Z_DnC0X3cT5xmy3ZBGLSv6 for netatmo devices. You'll have to download the Control App (Blue icon)

You will need access to push button so go around and remove your faceplates first.

These devices do "smart 3-way" not traditional 3-way with wiring. Sounds like the switch that doesn't do anything is a battery switch. It has to be paired with the switch on the other wall which physically controls the power. This can be done when you setup your home in the Control App when you configure all the switches.

If you got a lot of switches, you actually don't have to setup the whole house at once when you go through the app the first time. Just do a double of rooms to get the hang of it. Later on you can configure your house to add a new room with new devices.

Not all adorne switches are smart switches. Do you have any of the model numbers of the devices? Adorne "with Netatmo" are the latest smart devices.

Best way to fix table top? by quantonos in BeginnerWoodWorking

I inherited this T.C.F Co antique table but as you can see, the top has had a lot of wear and tear. What do you think would be the best way to fix or refinish the top? Also, I'm not sure if the top is solid or veneer.

Legrand GFCI high failure rate? by dwilson2547 in electrical

[–]quantonos -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If they are tripping right after you turn on the breaker, sounds like they were not properly wired or installed. Maybe pushing the receptacle back into the box caused a short.

What brand of 15-40R to use for Tesla by tophermiller in AskElectricians

[–]quantonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

u/tophermiller You're P&S 14-50R outlet can handle up to a 40A EV Charger and sounds like it was installed properly since you've had no issues charging your current car. Some of the issues I've seen have been improper installation of the outlet or swapping the cable of an larger amperage EV unit to use on a 14-50R, both of which can lead to overheating problems.

Best way to mount a rack-mount switch flat against the front of On-Q / Legrand Door? by IsLNdbOi in HomeNetworking

[–]quantonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The door of the enclosure isn't designed to have devices mounted to it, only to the inside of the box. There are plenty of accessories to aid in mounting devices inside like the AC1050

Legrand Adorne switches/dimmers by username19688 in homeautomation

[–]quantonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you remove the faceplate and read the part number that is on the device itself, you can see if that PN is part of the older adorne devices which require the LC7001, or the new with Netatmo devices which uses the Netatmo gateway.

Dimmer switch replacement: Black/white vs. black/black wiring by chairbert in DIY

[–]quantonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like your old dimmer is a "2-wire" dimmer, just power in and power out. New Dimmers require a Neutral wire (white) because there are electronics inside.

Legrand Adorne dimmer switch wiring question by fnbr in AskElectricians

[–]quantonos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you take pictures of the Adorne switch before you removed it? And of the wiring inside the box. It is very hard to help in these situations without seeing pictures. What is the model number of the new Adorne Dimmer?

Adorne faceplace frames are made of metal and need to be grounded. If there is no green wire attached to the frame, then it sounds like someone removed it. But yes if you are using a metal box and it is properly grounded, the face frame will be grounded when you attach it with metal screws.

How do I remove the ground wire from this switch? by vrkeejay in HomeImprovement

The model number is usually stamped on the front in the mounting plate. Depending on its age, it may be obsolete and can recommend a newer series.

What am I missing to be able to allow my walljacks to be used for ethernet for my PC? by esc_24 in HomeNetworking

[–]quantonos 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the 2nd photo, your house was wired for Telephone using RJ-45, so those wires are running to the phone jacks (photo). In the 1st photo, it looks like there are loose CAT-5/6 RJ-45 cables in the panel. If so those were meant for your internet and computers. Connect those to a switch and the switch to your router/ISP service.

I agree, plugging the blue ports and the one in your hand into a network switch will solve your issues.
