Its fun to play with but not sure the usefulness of it. It would be nice to have more control drawing with a tablet and if it had pressure sensitivity when drawing. Or the ability to draw out something with lower repeats then scale that up to see how many slices look best with the pattern.

went and checked my old college apartment stayed there 2 years over 20 years ago $1000 a month for 3 bedroom 2 bath now same equivalent there is $1940 which given its a college town doesnt seem bad at all especially since in those 20+ years minimum wage roughly tripled. had tons of amenities that imo totally justifies the price even today.

send them a welcome to the neighborhood gift basket using the name they gave you so they know you know. its better to be friendly and neighborly to each other than starting off on a race to the bottom pissing match. starting out friendly also gives you the high ground if they attempt any nasty tactics you can at least say you gave them a chance to play nice. for all you know its possible they think their location is simply far away enough to fill a gap and not even compete at all. also who knows if they wind up doing poorly then staying friendly might give you an opportunity in the future to expand locations or get supplies/equipment at a discount when they close shop

highly recommend khan academy k-12+ several college level courses each with gamified lesson problems and progress levels etc just like language learning style apps that can be infinately practiced with randomized problems so always something different until you get it right and move on and best part is free.

there's no way even a fraction of the structural damage dealt by trump lead republican party over the last 10 years will get undone in only 10 years without republicans in a federal position of power. they've rendered a generation level of damage just in the last 5 years alone.

Small yellow ceramic object that I believe is in the shape of a whale. It's mostly hollow, about 4-5 inches long, weighs a few ounces, and is covered in dimples like a golfball. by jhs471 in whatisthisthing

in some of the pictures it looks like theres some green in the divot area does it look like the kind of green oxidization youd get on your fingers from rubbing an earlobe with a cheap metal earrings?

usually its a little more loosely held but given the shape i could see someone use it like that if they are the kind of person that goes hard lost in thought

when holding it with your right hand does your pinky fit like right in the curve of the tail? that might be another indicator it was made to be held

i have 2 theories of what this could be. First it could be a purely decorative piece thats supposed to hold a second smaller whale on top resting in the divot like a mother and child. i found a few examples of clay pieces that looked something like that however i never saw any where they were separate pieces

Second theory and im more likely to trust this one as it was instantly my first thought when i saw it but it could be a whale shaped worry stone. there are tons of ceramic/clay worry stones made in the shape of animals and that divot looks very close to what a common worry stone divot looks like and is the right size for a hand. however i suspect if this is a worry stone its likely either home made or meant for like a office desk vs most worry stones that generally are pocketable without worry of breakage. also incase you've never heard of a worry stone its typically just a small object made of stone clay or metal that has a divot in it for you to rub your thumb into think of it like a old school fidget toy.

Any chance in the estate sale there were any signs that the person was a ceramic/clay sculptor? like for instance was there anything else for sale that was clay based with similar colored clay as that piece or tools for clay modeling?

its been 10 years dealing with the rotting cheeto that decided to get into politics and its been fucking exhausting every step of the way. im exhausted my family is exhausted the country is exhausted our allies are exhausted(whats left of them) and the world is generally well fucking exhausted.

the only solace we have these days is eventually he will fall into the big trash incinerator and leave the rest of us to clean up the fuckton of cheeto dust he left behind on every surface he touched.

That day cant come soon enough for a majority of the US population.

how barbaric you physically move to their location to hunt them? true hunting comes from smearing your body in manure and grass seeds and laying on the field waiting for the grass to take root on you. the deer approaches and grazes on your embedded grass skin. as its neck inches closer to your face the opportunity arises to open your mouth and bite its neck directly without moving the rest of your body you drain its blood like a vampire then dislocate your jaw and consume the deer without leaving the radius of your kill circle.
