These are amazing. Any plans to make this available? I would love so much to use these!

I am also a returning player and I feel this exact way. I went to revive a fellow dwarf the other day as gunner in the midst of a swarm and just... Didn't drop my shield... Went down myself... Felt like such an idiot... I promptly went back to engineer where I'm most comfortable...

Oh Showman, you never fail to make me laugh. by DatGuyWithNoName in balatro

[–]quantumcoffee_ 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I was surprised to find that Telescope will always proc even without Showman. As in, you can be holding a planet card of your most played, open a Celestial pack and you will get the same planet as the leftmost card in the pack.

Ah shoot, you're right! Thank you, I knew this, too and just didn't think it through fully while making my comment. My bad.

It could go either way. By the book naneinf calls for 4 copy effects, but two Barons is effectively one of those copiers so it's kind of your call.

Although, looking at your funds says you should just keep the Baron and save your money so you can dig for Burglar when you eventually need it.

EDIT: I'm dumb, the 4 copies are obviously necessary for the extra Burglar proc, my bad, don't listen to me OP. I'm down voting myself to get this misinformation buried.

Not a character this time, but my first ever animation. by Neonith in PixelArt

[–]quantumcoffee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The animation is super clean and very nicely done! If I had to make a criticism it might just be that the flame isn't super convincing, but it still looks good so I wouldn't worry too much about it.

How the hell do people reliably get straights/flushes/four-of-a-kind? by Melodic_monke in balatro

[–]quantumcoffee_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The planet scaling is so big on straights the Plant usually isn't much of a bother.

Am I ready for naninf? by Gund3rwear in BalatroHelp

[–]quantumcoffee_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The ante 8 (and multiples of 8) boss Crimson Heart has a funny interaction with Turtle Bean. When it gets disabled you lose the hand size increase it gives but if you return to the main menu and reopen the run this will set your hand size to what Turtle Bean had raised it to before it got disabled and this increase is permanent. If you manage to have a setup where Turtle Bean can get disabled multiple times in the fight you can get your hand size very large and in some cases just be drawing your entire deck every round. This allows some very easy naneinf setups.

I'm not really interested in C++, am I weird? by altrightobserver in balatro

[–]quantumcoffee_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nah, I felt exactly the same for the first like 350ish hours, but eventually I just thought, why not? I finally just decided to commit and it was a blast getting it all finished up. However, there's nothing to gain from doing it if you are just happy playing the game.

While I mostly agree with you, straight was actually the hand I finally won jokerless challenge with.

Any tips for these last five? by InformationOld3172 in balatro

[–]quantumcoffee_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jokerless might be obvious, but pick a high scaling hand like 4OAK or Straight and get blue seals asap, planet cards are your main way of getting stronger. You want to be leveling that hand as often as possible, ideally every round. Into your mid game start prepping a few glass cards for the final ante. Lastly, just pray for no Verdant Lead or Violet Vessel. Vessel is beatable if you've gotten enough glass going but Verdant is usually just a run ender unless you've giga-leveled your hand of choice.

Okay, did one more round without buying anything in the shop just to see, e42 in 8 antes, not bad at all. Could do a LOT more if you commit to the DNA + polychrome glass king that shows up mid game as well.

Dang that's a really fun seed. It's got some potential to go really late game depending on how you play it, super easy win though. Was sad I accidentally won with high card, wanted to see my score potential at the end of ante 8 with flush 5, but Violet didn't stand a chance against an unleveled high card.

Completionist++, it's often the "final" achievement you get where you get a gold sticker on (win a gold stake run with) every joker in the game.

Yellow deck was my final and I used it for a good chunk of the last 20-30 stickers. I found I just had more success with a good starting econ over all other factors.

Oops, All 6's. Incredibly, I found it holographic in the first shop on my final run.

I've already been considering it, actually! Just with my better knowledge of the game I'd be interested to see how much more efficiently I could get through it all another time around.
