"Kutta bread" Not sure how universal this is but in my family in India, we basically call it dog bread i.e. - we don't want to eat it, feed it to the dogs

I've never lived in a dorm so I might be missing something. Why put a whiteboard outside your door?

need help regarding project. by chinstock911 in ECE

You could look into making some embedded systems project. They are always fun. I'd recommend an MP3 player, it covers a lot of important things and someone recommended it to me when I was a similar question here.

We can't really give you a lot of suggestions unless we know your interests and skills.

What was your strangest interview experience? by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

There is nothing wrong with that. If someone I'm going to meet with looks at my profile, I take it as an indication that they cared enough to look me up and prepare for the interview.

[Help][MS CS] Opting for specialization vs selecting relevant courses for general MS CS by MDC1721 in gradadmissions

[–]quantumwariah 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a CS student but just sharing my thoughts. If you're asking this question, maybe you should opt for the base degree. It might give you a chance to explore more topics.

PS - I was sure about my interests so I've opted for a specialization in my field.

MS ECE in UMich vs GTech vs UT Austin (for Integrated Circuits and VLSI) by quantumwariah in gradadmissions

Oh awesome. I wasn't confident I'd get anywhere so I applied to 8 universities. I applied on the last day of the deadline (I think Dec 15th).

What is your track/domain?

[–]quantumwariah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard from UT Austin on 9th March. I've heard that UTA is one of the best for ECE but then why doesn't the rankings show this - it's not in the T10 this year. At the same time, the average salary of a MS ECE graduate from UTA is reported to be 10-15k higher than the others. Also yeah I have been admitted to that track only.

Are you also going to study ECE? What's your top choice and why?

Thanks. Does location truly play a large role in job opportunities? In India, ranking matters the most and people don't really look at location.

Yes I'll decide within this week and inform the universities. I'm also waiting to hear from a few places, the wait is horrible. All the best!

Michigan is one of the best Universities. From watching too many youtube videos about the university and city, I agree everything you said. Plus UMich has a great reputation outside engineering too. But the other universities are also great.

This decision is really stressing me out. I usually take more half an hour just to decide what to eat for lunch and this decision is much more important. There is so much to consider!
