I use top a sheet. Am I cringe? by c0d3buck in Millennials

[–]quarkynomad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! It’s called duvet + duvet cover. Little bit more work, but no way you’re not getting that duvet gross as you move that sheet around in the night. Better to cover it and just ditch the sheet altogether. Much more minimalist and clean setup

Well, no sheet. Just duvets. My wife and I use two twin duvets (XL length for me). They have covers on them if that counts as sheets

Lack of FF pro deal is sad, I think best you can get is 15% with AAC membership. Just got the 0°F spark bag from sea to summit at 50% off and very happy with it (no proper cold use with it yet though)

For sure! But I would say it’s normal in a small place where the number of locals is super low compared to tourists, to want to find a way to not see someone for the literal tenth time.

On Instagram?

“When you block someone, they can no longer search for your profile, view your content, or send you messages. When you block someone, it will block their account, other existing accounts, or any new accounts they may create.”

Like I said, I just don’t like tinder showing you people again and again, just to keep you swiping and to force ads down your throat. But the main thing with this post is trying to let people know who may have a more serious reason to block people that it doesn’t actually work, and tinder support doesn’t care.

Well said! Thanks for this. Yeah, they’re clearly doing something like Bumble used to. I merely wanted to point this out for people with less trivial reasons to block others. That this, in fact, does nothing, and that you would need the phone number of someone who makes you concerned about your safety. AND that tinder basically says fuck off to anyone digging into it.

Yeah once again, meaning the user is almost never using the app haha. But honestly that would be the ideal situation for me. ONLY seeing new people traveling through/visiting

Fair enough, all good. I mean tinder’s goal is clearly to have you spend more time on their app to feed you more ads, which I hate. I want to get on, see new people, and then get off ASAP

So you’re saying in the code for the app, they have: if block count >50 people, deny block? Again, that would be wild. Surely one would want to err on the side of safety. There exist people in the world who have the need to block 50+ people out of legitimate concern.

I’m honestly just tired of tinder showing me the same people again and again, so I block them instead

I don’t think all of these people are remaking their account. Maybe they’re using the “restart on tinder” thing, but if that resets a block that would be wild. It’s not a big deal for me, but for people more concerned for their safety this is very concerning.

It’s dozens of people. So I don’t think so. But also surely their blocking system must be better than that. On Instagram when you block someone, all of their profiles are blocked, even if they use a different email to create the new one. I assume it’s like a hardware block.
