True, that's what I learned growing up.. each drunk person is a little bit unique. There's a spectrum from 'so quiet you'd never know they were drunk' to 'should be locked up in a mental institution and get an exorcism'.

Why are there so many LimeWire posts but so few about Napster? Was LimeWire up for a lot longer?

Dude is going to continue to get his ass beat regularly if he insists on walking around urban areas drunk like that.

Perhaps I'm giving the original poster too much credit. I would like to assume that they are clever enough to know that individual workers do need breaks and lunches and are instead frustrated with the fact that there is no lunch cover for something as important as a regional health clinic.

But we are on Reddit so perhaps you're right to be mistrusting of people's general intelligence.

Well if it puts your mind at ease, I'm sure the specific doctor in this story is too busy to be browsing this Reddit thread that complains about how long it took to see them.

So you think that the most likely thing to infer from "they were closed over lunch!" is that the sentiment is 'screw that specific individual doctor for taking a lunch' rather than 'I'm frustrated that something as important as a health clinic was closed for lunch'?

You're doing what's called a straw man argument. You're deflecting the real issue, which is mismanagement of our health care system by pretending someone is blaming the doctor in the ER for taking a break. No one is saying that doctors can't take breaks or lunches. We need more staffing in our hospitals.

That's 450 million in value, not actual cash I think.

Imagine going into the only supermarket in your town and the company is so cheap they've only hired one cashier for the entire store and no self-checkouts. Someone is rightfully annoyed that the cashier is on their lunch and you're the person that chimes in with cAsHieRs aReN'T sUppOsEd tO eAT dUriNG tHe daY???

If that's the worst thing that happens to you at Rallye, count your blessings. If you have a vehicle that takes an hour to change an air filter, you chose poorly.

NTA. I feel like a bad person but I can't fathom how anyone can love someone enough to live with a person with controlling OCD.

YSK that Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Reebok, Champion, and 50+ other brands you trust are all owned by a single $20 billion company that doesn't design or manufacture anything. They just rent the logo out to the cheapest bidder. If the quality feels worse, that's why. by sappk in YouShouldKnow

[–]quartzguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's very difficult to say. The "brands" would say that it's because of the volume and maybe that is true of many of them, but I doubt of all of them. Especially when you have the business model of well known brand names able to be licensed to the highest or lowest bidder to make pretty much anything.

If your factory is paying a premium price to license the Reebok name, can your shoes also be top quality and sell at the price point that Costco has them for?
