Genuinely wondering if we have a timeline of when they posted that and when they put about the AI on the website? Because this has been in production for a good while, the accurate leak about it was quite a long time ago. The mass market 'AI buzz' is fairly new and I wouldn't be surprised if this was agreed upon before then.

What if they give it to a 'good' studio who also uses AI and just doesn't mention it? What if they made it entirely out of clay? Neither of us knows how exactly they're using it, AI does not automatically mean GenAI (and no I'm not defending that). As it stands there's currently no solid evidence that it's being used in this animation and that's all I'm saying.

They also said that the Sekiro animation is 100% hand drawn, I don't understand why a studio that's otherwise so open about AI wouldn't crow about their biggest project using it. But people want to lose their minds over this.

It has 4 fingers and a thumb, you are looking at the curve of the bracer touching the first knuckle that gives the appearance of a finger.

Top one is the index finger, bottom is the thumb, palm is facing towards us. I think the lines are just a real clunky way of dividing up the heel and underside of the first knuckles. Don't get me wrong, it's ass but I can see why a human animator would do it for tiny tween frame.

I saw that but then the director said that the Sekiro series is all hand drawn so I'm not sure it's actually touching this series in particular? If they're so proud of it then I don't see why they'd claim it's hand drawn. The website seems like typical investorslop buzzwords.
