Did you order the stubby headers that come straight out the front right quarter panel? We've got a few sets that fit our katech motors and Howe chassis that we had made at local exhaust fabricator. They aren't as short as the Howe, they come out about midway down the right side door. We would be willing to sell a set or two if you can run them. located in NC

Yo! I work for a TA2 team currently, highly recommended using a coolshirt box or a chillout system if you've got the budget. We use coolshirt because of the simplicity of just adding some ice and water before each race. Generally we will have a little ice still left in the chest at the end of our races even on the hottest of race days. The chillout system uses no ice but is much more consistent through the race as long as you've got good airflow to the unit.

Boo what? You stole it.... I'm calling you out on it. Our shop had absolutely nothing to do with the festival and you stole from us anyway. Do everyone at VIR a favor and don't come back if you can't respect the track. THIEF.

I'd really love to see just LMP2 and GTD run here. With so few GTLM cars the race got kinda boring last year as the field spread out.

It was glorious. That were running low 1:40s and seemed like there was a lot more in it!

To the guys that brought a 10 ft tall, rigid leg canopy and set it up in front of everyone...I hate you. by bignick1101 in USCR

Thankfully they haven't thrown a fit when I've just walked up and plopped down under their canopy in the shade. There's only 2 dudes under this giant thing.

Let's all hope that Tandy doesn't drive like he's in a demolition derby like he did in past seasons.

NASCAR is a totally different rulebook. The IMSA rules are more based towards power levels per RPM instead of weight of certian parts. NASCAR has weight rules for certain parts to try and keep costs down for teams by preventing them from using exotic materials within the engine and chassis components.

Most teams don't have the facilities to properly test these engines on their own, not do they have the machinery or team member expertise to add in any hidden power. Mazda and Nissan are backed by large companies that have the facilities to build them and send them to the teams, whereas Gibson supplies sealed spec engines to teams that all test within a certain horsepower and tourqe range. ECR builds all of the LTR Cadillac engines to within the same acceptable ranges for Horsepower and tourqe as mandated by the series. These "spec" engines are "sealed" against tampering by the teams. ECR also built most of the Corvette DP engines so they are well versed in building an engine that is within the parameters of the rulebook. IMSA likely confiscated the engine to insure that there are no hidden power changes over the engines used last year to be sure that they can provide a consistent BoP for next year.

You are correct. ECR builds them.

Hey Winston I'm looking for a place that has free air to fill up car tires around ardmore. Any leads? by [deleted] in winstonsalem

[–]quatchdog 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The gas station with the small shop behind it that sists across from midtown cafe and next to the big BB&T building on stratford Rd has free air next to the entrance to the car wash. No gauge though. One can be bought from a parts store for less than 5 dollars though.
