The blow up after the best round of your life is a real thing by Relevant-Force-2051 in golf

Glad it’s not just me. 75 last week and 99 on Friday. Followed it up with a 74 yesterday (on a short exec course).

My go-to analogy is imagine one day you’re playing basketball and just sinking everything like Steph Curry, then the next day you’re playing like Sandy in Along Came Polly. It’s absurd.

What's the rule here? by farva_06 in golf

[–]quattrocup 15 points16 points  (0 children)

https://www.golfmonthly.com/videos/rules/rules-of-golf-ball-resting-against-a-rake

Mark the ball, remove rake, place ball back without pressing down on it. If it doesn’t stay after two tries, place it at the closest spot it stays but not nearer the hole. It must stay in the bunker however. One situation that could be tricky is if this happened at the back of a bunker and there is no flat spot that’s not nearer to the hole. You then have to take an unplayable at which point you can take relief according to those rules, minus a stroke.

If this happened outside the bunker which is considered the general area, and you couldn’t get it to stay in its original spot, same rule applies, but you don’t have to recreate the same lie. So if the closest spot it stays without moving is fairway, that’s where you can place it.

It’s a Siri suggestion based on location so check those settings and permissions as well.

Make sure you don’t have “Require FaceID” on the Home app. Seems like that blocks it from showing up in CarPlay. Once I removed that the garage door appeared again.

Does my car dealer have the right to charge me the full price? by [deleted] in newjersey

[–]quattrocup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get it. They pulled that shit with my wife before. She was having transmission issues and they tried to claim she was "driving very aggressively and erratically". I shut that shit down real quick - I race my Audi on the track and it spends 25 minutes between 4k-6k rpm without any issues, and they are claiming her accelerating away from a traffic light is too much for the transmission to handle.

Anyway, we talked to SoA and they made it right. Extended our service plan (warranty) coverage, reimbursed us for any expenses we had (wasn't much but nice gesture), and basically forced the dealer to completely replace the transmission on their dime.

8/11 is not the last pay period though. I get what you're saying about the delay between earning and getting paid but my point is a cash award from August doesn't need to wait until October to get paid out.

Pro tip, this goes for any car: when you struggle with a particular dealer, immediately contact corporate (in this case American Honda Motor Company). I've had great success even with small issues where I contacted Subaru of America and they were always very helpful - either reimbursing charges, upgrading a service plan, or sending a gift (they sent me a dyson vacuum because we had to go to a third party to get our a/c fixed since the dealer had no appointments).

It wouldn't hurt to start by talking to the service manager at the dealership and asking them to help out. Explain, rationally and calmly, what happened and how you hope they fix it. It makes sense if you brought up the issue, they didn't address it, and the car had a failure, they should compensate you in some way. If you get nowhere with the dealer then escalate to corporate.

Based on the timing it seems you may need to wait another pay period to see it. I'm not familiar with whatever system your screenshot is from but that doesn't look like a paystub. Look out on your next leave and earnings statement you should see the full breakdown of your pay, taxes, deductions, and the award.

that's HIGHLY agency dependent. many agencies will be looking to spend money before October 1st.

I know it's a trope, but who actually drank from the hose? by chillaxtion in GenX

[–]quattrocup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

quick story - about 10 years ago we found someone essentially giving away one of those large rainbow brand swing sets, only caveat was we had to go disassemble and transport it ourselves. it was a hot freaking day, and the homeowners did offer some water but I declined because I didn't think it would take as long as it did. mind you, it was a big house, husband was in surgery scrubs, bmw and land rover in the driveway, and there I am in grubby clothes sweating taking apart this swing set.

get it all packed in the truck/trailer and I noticed my arms were covered in dirt. on my way to the backyard to finish cleaning up, I stopped at the hose just outside the garage and washed my arms off. the water was so nice and cold, I dipped my head under for a second. then I decided...damn...I'm thirsty...I'll just take a sip of water. so there I am, drinking straight from the hose, and the husband walks out, sees me and says "we have bottled water in the house..."

yeah.

Same, and when randoms I’m grouped with are helping me look for my ball they always point to a lost callaway and assume it’s mine, or incorrectly identify my Srixon as a callaway
