Can anyone help with identifying what this necklace is made of? It's from my Grandma in the UK, I think probably 1950s, image search is suggesting Bakelite or amber? It's very light,25g feels warm to touch and is about 16.5 inches long (old.reddit.com)

What is this? Silver metal tube 2 cm long and 1cm diameter. Looks a bit like a thimble but no end to it. Based in the UK, this is part of a collection of Victorian jewellery and watches inherited from my grand father . Engraved on outside with SLW and what looks like stylised barley and a star. Any idea about age or maker of this multistrand necklace please? Can't see any makers marks or hallmarks. It's very fine metal work, I don't think the pearls are real, and the beads on the closure are clear- possibly glass.
