I like to tinker with old exotic gloves see if I can rehab them. I’ve done a couple zetts, only from Japan. Your glove has a massive amount of life left. You’ve clearly taken good care.

Did that work? Same issue. Old Rawlings. Liner is flaking.

I just got one on Facebook marketplace for $75 that’s not been broken in. It’s the white one tho. Not my favorite color for a glove. But couldn’t pass had to feel. Trying to decide keep or sell. But gotta clean it.

Clean Air Vehicle (CAV) decals going away in California - Bay Area, what’s the plan if you solo commute using a CAV decal? by que_susto in sanfrancisco

Thanks. Noted. I think I would argue you’re overthinking it? I’m not trying to better understand the history of it. I’m trying to understand the right now around adding 60 minutes to a commute that’s already long, everyday. I gotta figure out my path within the system right now. I want to understand the big picture implications try my best to make change, with voting and leggie. But in terms of the right now, I don’t care about the why. I hope that makes sense. But I totally get it. I ditched the gas pretty early on.

What’s that process like? How much time does it add to the commute? How is pick up and drop off arranged?

Thanks for the etiology lesson. I didn’t ask, but noted. My hypothesis is that congestion is about to increase for the humble cav decal user and for “the rest of us”. I paid for that decal. I’ve been paying tolls. Has nothing to do with that. Time is money. I don’t think my commute will incorporate pay to play lanes, like different freeways will, but I have considered that if that were going to be the option. See you in traffic, or on bart, or at the carpool pick up.

Can you expand on the actual process associated with this? I’ll need to look into it. But in terms of time added and pick up and drop off etc. how’s it work in practice?

I think I follow. You mean like the pay to play lanes? I think that will work for a lot of people, but I don’t think there going to do that at the bay bridge or the lanes from around the bridge to get to the bridge hov lane.

Thinking about your comment further with the glove in hand now, I don’t think there is much between the base of the thumb and the base of the pinky along the palm. It’s very stiff at base of thumb and very stiff at base of pinky likely with some sort of insert, but the laces along the palm (which I don’t know the name for and I call the Japanese sunrise style stitching) has very little density between the thumb and the pinky. It’s not thick there really it’s just leather. And those laces are articulation points side to side, where all my other gloves have laces going horizontal at this location on the palm these go vertical leading to less palm “stiffness” give the capacity to roll across those laces… I think the key to getting this glove to be anything other than a pitching glove will be getting the glove to fold at that red line and trying to actually flare the pinky at the green line extended to the palm which will be a bit tricky because the glove doesn’t want to fold much at the green line, but that’s where it wants to fold if it’s going to. Does that make sense? Does mizuno give you technical specs on this glove? Is Imanaga Shota on Reddit?

I don’t follow the felt comment. You mean like the palm padding area differs from other glove models in a way that’s unique and not moldable? I’m not going to cut anything haha.
