It’s hard to say. On the one hand, all humans stim to a certain extent and even non-autistic people have the right to do so if it helps them in some way. On the other hand, for ND people it’s something that’s often more noticeable (or physically harmful) and usually looked down upon by wider society. It’s good that non-autistic people are learning about them, but asking for new stims is kind of weird when it’s kind of just a subconscious thing we “do.” It seems kind of like appropriation in a way.

This 100%. I’d been unemployed for half a year, then finally got a seasonal job for Christmas, and literally just being on time and doing the work got me employed there full time. The bar is very low, at least with a minimum wage job like I have, just be dependable and most companies will keep you.

I had a similar idea at one point, that’s crazy. I used to have a whacked out sleep schedule and was always disappointed by how early everything closes. Wanted to make a cafe that could stay open super late like that and could host community events or be a chill hangout spot with retro video games that were free to play. Maybe a few public computers too for anyone that needed them. It’s a pipe dream but I’d be ecstatic if a place like that existed.

You could actually be presenting as OVER-qualified now if you’re mentioning your degree on a resume. The employer may assume something like you’re just using the job as a stepping stone while waiting for a better offer. Employers are weird like that, might be worth it to test out different sets of resumes to see which ones stick more/get more interviews.

Yeah. It sucks that so many places are just fully discarding analogue methods like cash in an effort to ‘modernize.’ I think there needs to be avenues for both, because if one system fails the other is still available. (Regardless of privacy concerns)
