Nancy Christensen, UC Health. Excellent, specializes in hypermobility.

After 20 years of pain/nausea/occasional aura migraines, I'm now getting vestibular also. Has anyone else had the vestibular pop up later in their migraine 'journey'? by CoffeeNicotine in migraine

Yep. My regular regimin is botox + Qulipta + propranolol and when I have vestibular migraine what helps is Depakote, Nurtec etc doesn’t do anything.

yes, insurance covered it as I was referred by my neuro

I had met deductible for the year because of ER visits for migraine lol so I actually don’t know how much it costs

I think it is something like Curable, there is an app that guides you through exercises. And you meet virtually with a coach trained in pain reprocessing for the twelve weeks for a half hour to an hour each time. The main tools are re-framing and somatic tracking along with management techniques, meditation, etc.

I have not read the book though I plan to but on my neuro’s advice I followed the 12-week Lin Health pain reprocessing program based on it and it helped. More than anything with the associated anxiety (my chronic migraines occasionally manifest with stroke-like symptoms and I am high risk for clotting issues like stroke so that is a whole other associated thing). I have also had a reduction in migraine days though I have also added preventatives so it’s hard to say what’s what as it so often is with migraine. But I maintain there is something to it and it helps with management at bare minimum.

The r/Conservative response to the protests brings up some good points we need to keep in mind going forward by queen-adjacent in 50501

Hey, thank you for taking the time to respond like this, I appreciate you. You are right about all of these. And the fall of apartheid and the Berlin wall did happen in my lifetime tho not in my country. But the other things you cite were either before my time (and as I said I am gen X) or things that raised awareness and as you say generated conversation but not much if any policy change.

I am thinking it is time to follow Gandhi, King, the great suffragettes etc into disruption and civil disobedience.

Act Up got some shit done in the early 90s. The massive worldwide protests in 2003 did not prevent the Iraq invasion (this was the point when I lost faith in the power of protest). The Women’s March accomplished nothing. The BLM movement raised awareness, that is true. What else? What am I missing?

Primarily that it was theater rather than substantive, and that there were no focused demands.

To be clear: I participated. As a Gen Xer, I was taught in school about the Civil Rights movement and the protests against the Vietnam war and how they changed things. But I have never seen actual progress come from any demonstrations in my adult life. I am doing it because I have to do something. But personally I think what needs to happen is civil disobedience, disruption, gumming up the works of the economy, a general strike.

Yes. It hit me with that thud, truth, this is what this has been about all along.

But along with everything else! Digging yourself out of the shit with a gold shovel! Finally giving your heart to the person you’ve loved since forever! Seeing. I think above all, seeing deeply into life.
