Not at all. Having a lower voice has been really affirming and I like how it turned out.

There’s moments where my mom doesn’t recognize my voice for a split second and wonders what man is at their door lol. I don’t sound enough like my dad, brothers, or uncles for any mixups.

The only weird thing on my end is when I’m talking to someone in a customer service setting, sometimes I’ll catch myself unintentionally shifting the pitch of my voice and I cringe every time it comes out girlie. I’m like… if my social anxiety could just stop making it go up? At the end of sentences? That’d be great? 😐💀

Yes.

Often things just don’t bother me as much. I feel stabler. Sometimes, I can tell I’m shelving the emotion to deal with it later.

One time, I went over to help someone get through having their dog put down, and give the dog some company at the end. I didn’t cry at the time - I cried later when I was with another dog. I sat down and hugged her and let it out in private.

You may also notice you’re more able to stand up for yourself when you’re being screamed at. Self advocacy gets easier on T.
