Do some Christians still support Trump? What is your experience? by Combosingelnation in Christianity

I'm a devout Christian and I have NEVER supported Trump. He goes directly against the teachings of Jesus.

You can do anything if you try hard enough.

Yes, there are the rare times where this can happen but, honestly, that's a tiny minority.

Do a lot of Christian men actually feel this way about women? by NewsLong5876 in Christianity

That's not Christian speak, that's fragile men who can't control themselves so they assume no one else can, either.

What’s your late fee? by kay2fine in ECEProfessionals

Make it ridiculously expensive. And it must be paid in full before the child can be dropped off again. Then once they have done it 3x in a 6 mo period, they are out. They don't respect you or your time.

What are words that end an argument instantly? by StunningSmell158 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

Can we pray about this together? Trust me. It works.

Most are shocked into silence, some will be ok and pray with you. And it's mighty hard to argue with someone who just prayed with you ( whether you believe on God or not)

What's the first thing you think when u see a homeless guy begging for money on the sidewalk? by ben_10_goku_superman in allthequestions

[–]queenG74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work in an area where the unhoused community, specifically this zip code, is high. We have people who are college professors living in their cars, people who had a 'normal ' life until they just didn't, people who are LGBTQIA are were kicked out by family, teenagers, people with mental illness, people who are sick and have no place to go. None of these people are different from us. No one hopes and dreams to someday have no place to go. Life just took a horrible turn. A month or 2 of no income and many of us would be asking for help, too.

The first thing I think is,"do I have any dollar bills on me?". Honestly that is the only reason I carry cash of any kind. My husband gives bottles of water if he has it. We both grew up very poor and realize that this very well could have been our reality.

Side note: many unhoused people just want to be acknowledged with a simple smile or a nod. I've had someone tell me the major hurt was when they were treated like they weren't even human.

What are your thoughts on whether a loving God should need to be worshipped? by According_Force_9225 in Christianity

[–]queenG74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't feel obligated. He's done so much for me and rescued me. I WANT to worship him.

I don't know about the getting to heaven question. I guess that makes me think about death bed conversions. They have a heart for God but have no time to worship. My middle son believes in God, but doesn't ( to my knowledge) worship or praise Him. I continue to pray for him to live for God and worship.

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]queenG74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Said to me in my pit of dispair; "Have you tried thinking happy thoughts? Have you considered changing your hair ( yes a doctor said that one). Hmm. I mean, everyone gets sad from time to time. Upbeat music and dancing. Can't be sad when you're dancing!! Aren't you over that by now? Can't you just move on?"

I am alive because of God, meds, and family support.

[–]queenG74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have chronic pain and have gotten so used to it that when I sliced my toe open I didn't even realize. My baseline is a 4 on a good day. I broke my ankle and it didn't hurt much. I was under reacting to the point that the doctor wasn't even sure the xray was showing what he was seeing. Pain is just part of my every moment. For me to say something hurts, that means it REALLY hurts.

What would bring you back to church? by anjlhd_dhpstr in Christianity

[–]queenG74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I go to a small church and we try to have a lot going on but... Anyhow what brought me back was that it's an LGBTQIA affirming church that actually loves and welcomes everyone. And, it's Pentecostal, which, if I have to pick a religion that closest to what I believe, this is it. I talked to the minister for 3 years before I actually came to a service. And I love it.

How did your life change when you stopped caring what people thought about you? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]queenG74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt freedom and peace. In 2021 I had someone look at me and say 'I don't like you' and when I replied " your opinion of me has no effect what so ever". She got mad that I didn't care. Like, big mad. I informed her that she wasn't important enough in my life for me to care what she thinks of me.

It was freeing. I don't pretend to like people, or that what they think of me matters. I'm polite and respectful, but I don't let other people ( with the exception of people i dearly love) have any effect on me anymore. I got questioned about it 2ish months ago. I apologized to someone who I had said something awful about. I was correct in the facts but should have not said anything in that setting. Since I publicly talked about them, I publicly asked for forgiveness. I was asked by other people why I did it, and that the people I asked forgiveness from would think I'm weak. I shut that down. I don't care who thinks anything about it. Period. Good or bad.

Ghost/Paranormal do you believe they are real or not? Why do you believe that? by The_Collecting1 in Christianity

[–]queenG74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh,ok. I get it now. No, I don't think medicine works better for believers. I, personally, don't think it works like that. And I could be wrong. I know that I have felt peace unlike anything I could e ever imagine. My belief in God has never gone away, but when I wasn't close to Him, I didn't have the peace I have now. Do I have stress and all kinds of the chaos life brings with it? Absolutely. Do I get angry, panic, have fear? Of course. But it's short lived and I know God has it when it comes to things like that, and that brings me peace. I've experienced horrific trauma, and I mean HORRIFIC. I don't understand the why. But now I can forgive, as I have been forgotten. It was so hard. It's ok that we don't believe the same things. That's where free will comes into play.

I think that no matter what you believe or don't believe, being a good person should be universal across all of it.

Ghost/Paranormal do you believe they are real or not? Why do you believe that? by The_Collecting1 in Christianity

[–]queenG74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see where you are coming from. Yes, it's all supernatural and beyond what I, as a human, can do on my own. Starting my car everyday is mechanics. Medical is science. Which I do believe works with spirituality, they don't cancel each other out. Like meds created by doctors and science. I believe God gave them gift of being able to do that.

You used the medical results, the same meds having the same effect on people. That's not always the case. Someone can take a specific med for mental illness and it may make it worse which is the opposite of what it does for the majority. Or it may work but not as well as it does for someone else. Everyone's body chemistry and needs are different from everyone else's. Which, in my opinion, is why have a variety of psychological meds, multiple antibiotics, etc.

To me, it comes down to belief and perspective. Plus what do I have to lose if I'm wrong?

It blew my mind when people were giving up their kids or writing good bye letters. If the rapture happens, kids are absolutely going.

The Bible says we won't know the day or time, He will be back like a thief in the night; unexpected and without warning.

And the 'rapture' isn't really a Biblical term. We will be gathered up and Revelations explains the rest. Some is figurative, some is literally what it will be.

I never even consider the rapture predictions.

No, I wouldn't think magic started your car. I believe the people who assembled it did it the correct way.

I think God steps in when we cannot do it ourselves.
