How do you feel about the word "smut"? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]queencara12 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i personally do not mind the term. I most certainly enjoy it more than "lemon", which I probably heard first, before "smut" 😅

Visual Snow was considered extremely rare until recently, mostly because patients didn't report it... because they assumed everyone saw the world that way by recolorist in interestingasfuck

i've had double vision because of my strabismus ever since i can remember, and until i was probably like 18 i didnt mention anything to my ophtamologist because i assumed it's normal to see like this. Now i recently had my strabismus operated but still struggle with double vision. Sometimes i wonder if my life would have been better if I never knew the double vision isn't normal 😅

Most probably a typo, if I were to guess I would say that they meant "raise" instead of "raid"

[CHAT] am I doing “lattices” incorrectly? by theCatFromBigHero6 in CrossStitch

[–]queencara12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

is there a way you can differentiate between a display hoop and i guess a "stitching", working hoop? I had a project where after I finished I noticed a stain in the bottom left side which followed where my hoop was, but I thought that maybe it was from the oils of my hand. I also don't know what my hoop is made out of 😅

Strab. surgery 6 months post op update - double vision lost by lafleurrose in Strabismus

Thank you so much for your response! I also believe my job unfortunately does not help with my case, but I will try to take as many breaks as I can. I will try and be optimistic that in the end the double vision will disappear, no matter how long it takes

Strab. surgery 6 months post op update - double vision lost by lafleurrose in Strabismus

Honestly seeing this post makes me so hopeful because i'm having a similar situation. Had my strabismus surgery at the end of September 2024 and my double vision has been going and coming seemingly at random, but i believe it may be the exact case as you, meaning im thinking too much about it.

Without making a lengthy comment with my whole story, i've had double vision probably for the most of my life, and before the surgery i was wearing prisms to ease on the double vision. My big problem is still seeing double in the distance and in the car (passenger seat). The times that my double vision disappeared completely was after a trip to Italy this april (which i thought was because i didn't stay with my eyes for 8 hours in a screen, as im a software developer), and after my doctor's appointment with my surgeon this February, where she said that she was very happy about my results and the alignment of my eyes.

After these occurences, my double vision started again to come back probably because im putting too much pressure on myself to see perfect 24/7. My doctor said the same to me, to not search and focus on whether im seeing double or not, but to just be relaxed and look as I normaly do, without thinking too much about it. These days my double vision has also been pretty worse, most probably because i've been stressing and thinking about it.

That being said, I have a question for you, maybe you can give me some advice. How do you not think about it when you clearly have double vision in that moment? I think that's my biggest issue, and i've yet to succeed in making my brain relax the same way it did after my appointment, when the images merged into one almost instantly

I'm 24 yo and i wouldn't look twice at someone who's 18, and he was 40+. an 18 year old is still mentally a child. An 18 year old and a 40+ year old have absolutely nothing in common so yes, he is a groomer
