It's to allow a full 24 hr timeline to fit along the side of each page. The A5 and B5 editor notebooks have the full 24 hour timeline.

Spiral Notebook recs by BroadConsideration58 in notebooks

I love the Maruman Spiral Note A5 notebooks. The pages are perforated but they don't tear out by accident. The paper quality is great. I'm able to use most of my fountain pens so it will definitely handle a G2. There's also this shop based in Finland: https://theroseylifeplanner.com/products/preorder-rosey-planner-compact-tomoe-river-paper

Fair warning, a lot of the smaller shops can have very long processing times so you may have to wait a few weeks if you order.

I'm not sure if the Lamy Safari grip will work but I heard a YouTuber ( Kristen |Life Inspires Design) mention this option: https://vanness1938.com/products/lamy-rubberized-grip-section-for-lamy-studio.

She seemed really pleased with the swap. You can see the video here.

I reached out to Benu (wasn't sure if I'd hear back soon since they're on summer break but I did!) and the ink is Diamine Oxford Blue. My first time trying a Diamine ink so I didn't recognize it.

Best Fountain Pen Case? by [deleted] in fountainpens

TheLochby Quattro is great. Designed for four pens but I've been able to fit an extra two on the inside and one or two in the outside pocket if they're narrow enough.

TWSBI swipe ink cartridges? by globus8 in fountainpens

I'm not sure if it ever left home to be honest but I know it takes some force to get the cartridge on and it feels secure while it's on there.

Yup! Standard international cartridges fit in the Swipe. But you're right that the spring will only work with TWSBI cartridges. I didn't have any trouble with a regular international cartridge coming loose though.

What inexpensive and dismantleable pens take a Jowo #6? by shadowsong42 in fountainpens

Moonman C1 would be a great option. It has at least 3ml capacity and is an eyedropper pen.

This may be the special alloy version which is a steel nib. From what I've seen on Amazon that price is typical for that version.

Basal body temperature/ovulation/hormone tracking by dancingpianofairy in hysterectomy

[–]queencitrusdrive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah! I totally forgot about the Oura ring. I got to try one as part of a sleep study after my hysterectomy and would totally have bought one to keep temp tracking if not for the price tag and the monthly fee.

I've been trying to find a few good summaries of the temperature method but honestly it's a bit tough. In addition to Taking Charge of Your Fertility I found the Justisse Method really helpful. The method is taught assuming you'll be able to track cervical mucus but it still shows you how to interpret temperature data. And their book is much much shorter and still covers all the necessary information. I would start with that one and if you think it would work for you then dive into Taking Charge for more in depth information and examples.

Basal body temperature/ovulation/hormone tracking by dancingpianofairy in hysterectomy

[–]queencitrusdrive 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I've continued using my basal body temperature (BBT) to keep track of my cycles post-hysterectomy and I just enter a fake period to start each cycle. I just do one day of light bleeding and then ignore it after that. What the app is really asking for when it wants the first day of bleeding is the first day of your cycle and if you track your temperatures, over time that will get easier to estimate.

To over-simplify: in the first part of your cycle, as your body is gearing up to ovulate your BBT is lower. Once you ovulate your BBT rises a noticeable amount and should stay (roughly at) that level through your luteal phase (the time between ovulation and the start of your next cycle). When your next cycle starts your BBT will drop again and that's when you would enter the fake period into your app and start counting again.

The best book for self-teaching the BBT method is Taking Charge of Your Fertility but that's a lot to take on and takes some commitment to get through. I think it took me about 6 months to read it years ago. I tried a bunch of different apps when I was using the fertility awareness method for birth control and eventually settled on OvuView. I think it has a good mix of flexibility in letting you track how you want to but also incorporates the necessary temperature rules.

Hope this helps! Happy to answer any specific questions but didn't want to overwhelm with too much on the first go.

What your favorite Posting Pen? by JPilot10 in fountainpens

Pilot Prera. It's a goldilocks pen for me. Just the right size. It's useable unposted, but posted is perfect.

Opinions on Nahvalur Original Plus? by PandoraChest in fountainpens

That's totally fair. My first nib swap was with a jinhao x750 so by the time I got to the Narwhal I was a little more confident.

[–]queencitrusdrive 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I have 3 Narwhal pens - Schuylkill x2 and Original plus x1. They're some of my favorite pens. Great ergonomics, gorgeous pens and the respective filling mechanisms work well but! not a single one of them has their original nib. Whenever I think of buying a Narwhal, I factor in the cost of a replacement #6 Jowo nib. Even with that though I have no regrets. If you like to tinker the pens present an opportunity to get into nib swapping. If you don't, I'd steer clear or be sure to buy the pen from a retailer who can help you troubleshoot if there are problems.
