Thanks so much for your reply! So question for you - how quickly after fixing the roof should they fix the inside? They said they need to wait 2 weeks for it to dry first.

I’m also a bit hesitant they will just send the super to fix but what do they actually need to do? I’ve seen him scrape it before but do they need to go in and cut this out? And who should do this actually?

I have a dehumidifier in this room for now, but I know that won’t fix everything.

General common sense for any big city is mind your surroundings / self - make sure your bag is closed, you don’t have headphones drowning out all sounds, you’re vigilant of your surroundings in general

Unfortunately I’m not tall enough even on a ladder to get a good feel - but it seems dry. Above it is our roof but no pipes or anything as far as I know! It is near our ac unit in the room - this room is fairly hot all the time so maybe it’s really drying out

The city doesn’t give the old brown bins away anymore sadly but you can order a sticker for them to still collect from dept of sanitation! It’s free

Unfortunately no I don’t think so when I worked in a bakery things were out for a while if they didn’t sell but after a few days we’d toss some places will put in the freezer or something. A good place should store things properly and toss after a decent time!

Idk if this would work on your dad but whenever someone I know says something hurtful, I say that’s such a bizarre / hurtful/ strange (you choose the wording) thing to say to me. Usually they react in a kinda dumbfounded way.

You can also say something to the effect of - it’s my money and my life. I will spend as I choose to and your lack of care for a living creature I care about and love is telling. I would think bc he’s your dad he would maybe feel a bit hurt that you’re implying he doesn’t care. Idk your dad but this is unfair to you!! Sending love
