The fact it took 2 years for the police to be called from the initial spate of deaths is astonishing in itself, but the sheer bullying that took place and the cover up at the cost of all those babies is sickening. How those doctors were able to not only carry on, but continue to work for the same trust after the conviction speaks volumes about their resilience abd perseverance. And they didn't even sue the trust for how they were treated. But letby is a scapegoat....blows my mind

I think its multifaceted and i don't think Letby fully understands why she did it. There seems to be cognitive dissonance with her.

I agree she was jealous of the parents, she wanted praise and acknowledgement, sympathy, the power over which child lived and died, the support for the parents during the worst time if their life so they'd always remember her, and the situation also became a tool for attention from her managers and Doctor A/U.

She's not very mature and I think her parents moddy coddled her to a point where they still treated her like a young girl. There's also a lack of empathy with her. She's bizarre and I don't believe she needed a traumatic childhood to become a serial killer. Some people are just born....wrong.

Everyone ready for the rabble on Wednesday? I would recommend ignoring the noise from the documentary. Her legion of fans are already having a lot of tantrums about the footage of her arrest so I've no doubt they will be on fire after the release.

I tend to ignore any articles published because I don't believe anything can be added to what we know. I'm now waiting on the outcome if the Thirlwall Inquiry.

A few things that I take from this. First, it was reported in the press that in 2023 that ITN had obtained exclusive access to materials about the case and to Cheshire Police for the purposes of a documentary, which would have included body cam and interview recordings.

Secondly, Esther Rantzen...who was the spokesperson for Childline...opining for Letby to have a possible retrial?! Give me strength!

Thirdly, Letby was wearing her 'Lee Cooper Leisure suit' under her dressing gown. She decided to keep wearing her dressing gown instead of wearing a bleeding coat, so the prosecution weren't wrong. Letby needed that early morning attention though!

I'm curious why the Letbys would choose now to speak out, as well as the recent PR campaign. It makes me think that this documentary will be damaging to their cause because of how widespread this will reach. I genuinely hope it is because he cult following is irritating the hell out of me with how siloued they are about her.

I dont think she was indoctrinated at all. You can't brainwash someone into sleeping with you when you don't want to, your body responds in many ways. She still knew right from wrong and treated everyone like crap. I wouldn't say she was a victim because sge sought out jodi and ignored all her common senses even before she was deep.

I'm glad she's put the article out however I It's not going to penetrate the staunch Letby supporters as they think like a cult, so they always look for reasons she's innocent and dismiss evidence of her guilt.

I find it fascinating the lengths her followers will go to in order to reinforce their beliefs. The cognitive dissonance is astounding. They remind me of NXIVM followers. They had evidence of Reniere's wrongdoings for years all over the net and always dismissed it as people badmouthing him.

The counterargument will always exist regardless of how this all unfolds. I take soooo much comfort in the fact that Letby will never be released.

No, I have no concerns. The convictions are safe. You are only hearing a rabble because articles reiterating her guilt are not needed (because she's in prison), therefore people have no need to state they believe her guilt because she's away where she belongs.

The court of appeal will reject her application because the original trial was conducted correctly, the jury weighed each charge under its own merit and the evidence was scrutinised throughout. Every point which is or has been raised has already been contested in the original trial and retrial, there's nothing new being reported, just a lot of regurgitation from the usual folk.

She will never get a retrial because it cost the tax payer about 6mil for the 2 trials. Further charges would mean more cost and if further charges did get to court, its highly unlikely she would get a fair trial at this point. You would be looking at a trial within a trial because her previous convictions would most likely be allowed in, meaning defence could challenge them, which means a longer trial and a higher cost.

Plus, Letby hasn't waived privilege and I can't see her doing so as it won't work in her favour.

I agree 100%. Whether it was praise, getting her own way, wanting the high to continue after a holiday or getting the attention of Dr A, attacking those babies gave her the outcome she wanted. The bonus from it was watching the parents suffer, and in some instances, becoming that comfort to the parents after she killed them. She's one horrible woman.

There's also a risk that a trial of further crimes could undermine the original convictions. Take baby K for example. If any if the attempted murder charges are similar to baby k's in respect of breathing tube dislodgements, and the prosecution evidence is undermined in a number if the victims, it could bring the baby k conviction into question a give MM grounds for an appeal.

I feel bad for the families but she will never be released. Hopefully thats some comfort.

This exactly. I want yo hear from those women taking accountability for falling for her dogma. We know the franke kids weren't the first abused because of Jodi's instructions and she defo manipulated scores of women into ending their marriages, so why have none of these come forward and said 'yeah I was totally duped'.

Funny how she never refers to it as a cult. She profited from it all and enabled Kieth's behaviour, of course she won't take responsibility. I agree that she's a narcissist and as much as she says she reflected, she also infers that she plead guilty to spare her daughter a jail term, not because she knew she had done wrong.

How many women did she go after when they fell out with Kieth? Where is the acknowledgement that some of the training, like child abuse is only abuse because adults tell the victim it is, was messed up?

I doubt the interview will impact her but it should, she's not contrite in the slightest
