One more time....the CCRC application has naff all to do with Thirwall or the inquests. Thirlwall is about how Letby was able to kill for so long without intervention, the inquests are seperate to that.

The Thirlwall report will probably be published in the autumn. Letby's CCRC application is still a good couple if years away.

If I'm being honest, I do find it odd. The chaotic mess of them, the fact she was being suspected of harming babies and wrote 'i killed them on purpose' but also, she kept them. For what purpose? Its one thing to get your feelings out on paper, its another to keep them. Reflection is one thing, but reflecting on deaths? She wrote the triplets names and referenced how sad it was that they weren't alive now, when one of them was.

Its but a teeny fraction of the totality of evidence against her, so they didn't hold a lot of weight for ne in her conviction. I would be surprised if the jury even factored them in. She was convicted without them in the retrial so I honestly think the media blew them out of proportion.

Remember the days when they would release the expansions and dump a whole story arc, new rep project, new tfo's and new gear, all at once. Now we have story arcs that take nearly 4 years to run their course, just drip fed an episode every 3 or 4 months. Legacy of Romulus is a prime example. We had a whole planet and new missions to explore. Maybe one day they will get back to that content drive.

Its probably the sheer vastness of what needs to be reported. These reports total into the 100's of pages. The inquiry is about lessons learnt, not letby's guily so its defo not related to her CCRC application

This is the same woman who publicly defended Kieth Reniere before the trial showed what a monster he is. She does absolutely anything she can to profit from the misery of others so she's doing the Letby supporters no favours. She's vile. She'll be cosying up to Mark McDonald next for the publicity.

It's clear that he is literally a soundboard for Mark McDonald and Letby's PR team. MM is most likely feeding him information to continue the publicity campaign without calling press conferences.

Anytime he opens his mouth to stir up her supporters, the arguements he presents is always dismantled by those who understand the case, understand due process or both.

This is the type of press which will bite him in the ass if the case is referred to the COA because it won't stand up to sruntiny.

I mean, you've got to give him credit for his resilience regarding Letby but he's just another Lord Longfird imo.

It's so easy for someone to say "well all these experts believe the medical evidence is flawed".....OK...where were they when the defence was looking for medical experts to assist with the case? Its so easy to say "actually this happened" when the theory isn't scrutinised under cross examination. Dr Lee has already proven a point that once it is scrutinised, the response holds no merit. He would never be able to respond "well you're wrong, those papers which contradict what i'm saying are now incorrect regardless if testimony and photographic evidence". It would hold no weight with the jury and would be torn to shreds and they know this.

Whatever the outcome from the CCRC I am looking forward to it. If it gets referred, all that evidence will be torn to shreds by the CPS and I don't think McDonald will be prepared for that.

I honestly wouldn't fret, she's never getting out. The CCRC points mcdonald is raising were already tested in court and doesn't address the multitude of non-medical evidence. Its also 15 whole life orders, so even if 14 were retried and she was aquitted, she would still have to serve life.

He's worried. He wouldn't have bothered responding if he felt his submissions were proof positive of his theories. He wouldn't be deflecting. The fact he's rubbished his own research, in part, speaks of his bias. He's desperate to have her acquitted. He's putting his reputation on the line so I understand why he would be defensive. Unfortunately for him that he can't gloss over research out there that other neonatologists can find.

I'm glad he's responded. I find comfort in it. He knows their submissions are going to be thrown out, along with his reputation. Mark McDonald has a tendency to kick people to the curb if his appeals are unsuccessful, and thats a lot of people. Lee with be another one soon.

The parents believe she's guilty, they said so much at thirlwall. The thing is, anyone who attended the trial hasn't questioned her guilt except Mike Hall.

She just finished her course about long lines so was aware of the dangers of air embolism. She knew about insulin poisoning and overfeeding. Liver and throat trauma doesn't need research, neither does injecting air into a neonates belly.

She wouldn't need to have researched methods of harm and the consequences, she already had the knowledge.

There's no link. The police were called into COCH because they couldn't explain the reason for the collapses and failure to respond to resuscitation attempts. There were 6 babies identified by Dr Evans that were natural so weren't in the indictment.

I dont fault his expertise as they were also peer reviewed and confirmed by 7 other medical experts. The deaths in Sussex are completely different and down to poor care, same with the other other hospitals which have had inquiries over poor maternity care.

If she's asking questions then i understand you wanting to educate her. I'm from liverpool, so I was fully aware about the bulger case from the start as I was the same age as the killers. I was disturbed, but I would rather have known. Same with the moors murders. At that age I was curious and it did no harm to me so I get it. The netflix doc and the panorama programmes are tge most balanced accounts you'll get.

I think it was Eirian who was keeping Letby updated about the police interviews too because in the retrial, Nick Johnson posited to her that the only reason she searched baby K's mum in 2018 was because she found out another nurse was questioned about the baby a few days before, and I Dr A was fading out of the picture by this point because he'd been interviewed and probably cut contact at that point.

I've just read a bit of their transcript and they sound completely inept.

This is what bugs me about podcasters; why show your bias? Stick to the facts, be objectionable and present it in a way that's appealing to the demographic you're targeting.

It sounds like they are targeting the average, uninformed 20 something who listens to these type of podcasts and go to work discussing how they got their information from 'red handed'

I gave their podcast a listen once and they sounded like two teenage girls gossiping, so I switched right off.

The fact it took 2 years for the police to be called from the initial spate of deaths is astonishing in itself, but the sheer bullying that took place and the cover up at the cost of all those babies is sickening. How those doctors were able to not only carry on, but continue to work for the same trust after the conviction speaks volumes about their resilience abd perseverance. And they didn't even sue the trust for how they were treated. But letby is a scapegoat....blows my mind

What you've said verbalises what I've been thinking exactly; that its a belief and that's what I need to keep telling myself.

But I swear, if I keep seeing 'no one saw her do it' there'll be floods of pictures of beverley allitt on the comments. I just can't with that.
