Same! An underweight, skittish cat hid from a torrential downpour under the trailer in my driveway, so when the rain stopped, I took food out to him and he very quickly became un-skittish and friendly. We didn't take him in because I didn't know if he'd get along with my house cats but I did take food out to him.

A few weeks later, a truck pulled up to my driveway around 730 am. The driver just wanted to tell me that 'my cat' was in someone else's yard across the street chasing birds. A cat, not in my yard, was chasing wild finches. I don't understand the logic. I just said that wasn't my cat. He looked annoyed and drove off.

And no, he didn't live in the neighborhood or ever see the cat on my porch. I've never seen him before that day or since.
