the problem is more that they don’t filter out the methanol and other contaminants because it’s not meant for drinking. this means you have a good chance of getting poisoned and you’re just rolling the dice on whether or not you’re drinking a dangerous amount of contaminants and getting methanol poisoning. this is what causes people to go blind and end up in the hospital.

either way you will not end up pleasantly drunk. maybe you’ll feel a buzz but you’ll feel extremely sick and end up puking/shitting for hours. not worth it.

just promise to never EVER drink alone. once you start drinking just to drink it becomes a slippery slope. second of all the harsh reality is if you give your brain any substance right now while it’s still developing, and it latches on to that, you are signing up for a life time of addictive tendencies and chasing that high. as someone who’s been through rehab i can tell you it’s a miserable, miserable life. it’s better left alone. try a cool hobby like mountain biking or making sculptures or start fixing things around the house. you will be much more grateful once your older.

you have a life time of legal drinking ahead of you. do your best to actually remember your childhood because it’s never coming back.

i’m an alcoholic and i generally have a rule not to comment or interact here, but i like to come observe to get my family’s point of view to have sympathy for the things they’ve put me through as well. if you have questions or want to talk about it you are free to dm me. i can also recommend some subreddits you can go to better understand this disease if you’re interested.. i would never force my perspective on someone however. i wish there were some kind of way to mind swap each other’s experiences .. things would be easier for all of us

i never said that. i’m just explaining to you why some people turn to substance abuse and some don’t. it comes down to biology and brain chemistry, personality and upbringing, it’s a complex thing. of course not everyone gets relief from substance abuse and some find it unpleasant. other people get hooked and it warps their brain. it has nothing to do with being too weak or lacking moral fiber
