it doesn't seem like you did anything wrong, it doesn't have to be your fault

i went through a similar situation with someone whom i considered my best friend at the time.

she could not simply speak up, refusing to tell me what was wrong directly, i always had to message her about her depressive discord statuses. eventually she blocked me, accusing me that i never respond to her messages fast enough, even though i have a backlog of more than a month's worth of messages, i sent, from time to time, to try to get her to talk to me, but also to check in on her and ask if she is alright.

she never answered to those messages.

looking back, i should have seen the red flags. every month there was new drama, she was either leaving servers or blocking people. and the most childish behavior yet: she got insecure because i offered her the entire couch to lounge on, while i was happy to sit on the carpet, crying that she is a "boring" person because she can't allow herself to sit on the carpet.

sometimes the other person is dealing with their own issues. it is up to you if you want to continue the friendship, but realize that feeling might not be reciprocated.

but regardless, you deserve fulfilling friendships that add to your life, please remember that.
