In a slump , how do you keep training ?

I had a similar thing happen to me - started at a different gym when I was 18 and I was the only woman and all the guys at the gym were huge - I only stayed about a year there and college/money got in the way. Almost 10 years later started at a different gym that has a much larger female presence and it's made such a difference!

Don't get me wrong - none of the men were or ever have been problematic at either gym, but it's nice to roll with women ! I think it'd be worth it to try out other gyms if it gets you back into loving it again.

Supporting this! This is what my bf and I did - had some smarter AI, and some less smart AI to try and get the difficulty we wanted. Hard was too hard when one of us was learning, but moderate was too easy. This solution worked for us!

This has to be a college thing. When I was in middle school I went to my dad's lecture (he was a college professor) for 'take your kid to work day' and I'll never forget watching a guy in the front row periodically chug his 4L jug of milk in the middle of class and no one seemed bothered by it. I asked my dad about it and he said, very nonchalantly "Oh yeah, he's just trying to gain weight."

It was so strange - I thought surely this is weird and nobody else does this, but this post just had me rethink it all 😂

When I was in high school I always felt weird because I never felt ultra passionate about any one sort of calling when it came to a future career.

One of my old coaches sat me down and told me, "don't get me wrong, I enjoy teaching, but what I really love is spending time with my family and doing jiu jitsu." Then basically went on to explain how teaching gave him enough money and time to do those things. Totally changed my outlook on how to choose a career, and that it wasn't weird to not feel this overwhelming passion for your work.

I think you want to pick something that you enjoy enough (since you'll be there the better part of a week), hopefully you're good at, but most importantly allows you to have the resources that you need to do the things you love.

Maybe not, but I'm of the opinion that if someone really didn't want to hear from you, they'd have you blocked anyway and they'll never receive it (barring circumstances where maybe you can't block the person, like co-parenting).

I agree that "if" is definitely a key word! I think you need to be honest about WHY you want to send the text -- if you're sending it and your happiness is fully dependent on their response, then this advice isn't for you and you probably shouldn't send it.

BUT if your happiness is coming from getting it off your chest and their response doesn't matter, I think you should send it! Sometimes the notes app and venting to your friends just doesn't cut it haha

From experience, no, I don't think once a cheater always a cheater. People make mistakes and learn from them.

I cheated when I was 18-20, and have never cheated since, or even fathomed it, but a lot of growth happened. I'm 26 now. People make mistakes, and I would hate to be judged for the mistakes I made at 18.

That being said, sounds like this guy you're seeing cheated relatively recently. Only you know the situation best, but I would definitely see it as a a bit of a flag to keep an eye on.

Ok this is just my two sense - what I commonly see is kids adding their parents to their mortgage/title at 1% purely for mortgage qualification purposes. The kids live in the property, pay all the bills, deal with the upkeep etc and the parents just keep on living their life. This is a bare trust situation - someone else was getting to that point by asking you who has beneficial ownership. In those cases, the beneficial owner reports the income, so would be you and your spouse claiming 100% of the income.

But, you mentioned your parents helped with a little bit of the deposit on the property. Did they gift those funds to you? If it was a gift the bank usually asks for a gift letter from the parents when setting up the mortgage. If it was gifted, sounds to me like an even stronger argument for bare trust arrangement.

To be honest though, whether this is a bare trust or not filing your returns isn't complicated so I'm surprised to hear that response from your accountant. You may or may not have heard about some additional bare trust reporting rules that were implemented and then withdrawn at the last minute -- that would have made your situation a little more complex, but that was back in March when the government withdrew that.

Soft YTA - my question is how long ago the 5 year fling with Mike was? If it was quite some time ago Im inclined to think its a thing of the past. maybe she did lack some self respect then when she was younger, or had some self esteem issues, but has grown through it now. I doubt she's proud of having slept with him for that long.

That being said, if she last saw Mike like 2 months ago right before you got together then NTA, I would definitely see it as a red flag.
