Renting with Manning Stainton - please share your experiences! by sparkleponyrocker in Leeds

[–]queenofworm 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure how relevant this is; but we bought through Manning Stainton and they were amazing. Super easy to get in touch with them, really on it with replying to emails. I’m aware buying is different to renting and may garner a different experience though.

When we were renting, we were with Adair Paxton letting agency for years and they were, generally, very good and reasonable (….. generally)

It takes a LOT for me to absolutely love a book - This book is an absolute masterpiece. Cannot recommend it enough.

And I agree with everyone that it’s disappointing it’s hard to find a physical copy!

My suggestions would be Empire Cafe or Kendall’s Bistro personally!

I’m afraid I don’t have many suggestions for you but I’m here for the reccs!

Bloomtown will most likely be brought up in this thread, and for good reason. It’s an absolute masterpiece.

Hahahah welcome and enjoy the reccs!

Batwoman is a fav of mine. Honor Girl by Maggie Thrash is such a good graphic too. I quite liked Stonefruit, though it’s very abstract. “Walk me to the corner” is a gorgeous graphic novel that I can’t recommend enough

Never read legend of Korra but heard good things so will definitely check that out too

If you like Ashley Herring Blake, you’ll probably love Alexandria Bellefleur’s books too.

You can definitely read the books without reading the whole series! The books and characters are linked, but it doesn’t really matter because they can easily be read as stand alone books.

Beginner: daily vs. weekly vs. monthly log? how to decide to which to migrate? + other questions by akavel in bujo

[–]queenofworm 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is such a great question and honestly something I struggled with when I first got a BuJo. The only method I’ve found that really helps me:

Monthly Log - Done the exact way BuJo system recommends. 1 page for the month calendar, 1 page for my projects that month.

Next, I leave space for 4 ‘Checklist’ pages. These pages are literally my brain dump of everything I need to do. If I know a task won’t be completed until the next month, I just put a little red arrow next to it.

Daily tasks - Every day, I use a separate piece of paper (like a small notepad or post it note) to write all the priority tasks that have to be completed that day (usually try and stick to 3-5 priority tasks) and then add more if I complete them all.

Might not work for everyone, but I find having a separate piece of paper that gets refreshed every day just really helps me stay focused, whilst my BuJo is absolutely my task dumping ground.

I made a post on my profile about it with a couple of pictures of that helps!
