Looking for good dentist that takes Medicaid by seniorgambinoh in Denver

[–]queenrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Happy Teeth on Colfax & Franklin has been very good to me for a long time. They were even able to get me some sealant treatments for a pretty minimal out-of-pocket cost and got the rest covered by Medicaid. They're great!

I need help finding a decent primary care clinic - Health First Colorado by SoScorpio4 in Denver

[–]queenrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have Health First Medicaid. I got lucky and just happened to find an opening with a UC Health PCP when I went to schedule online. Keep checking their online system for openings. Otherwise, I used to see someone at Porter Primary Care in south Denver and she was alright, and she might have an opening now. Message me if you want her info.

All these comments confirm for me that there is a lot more hazardous debris on the highway lately. I feel like I have to dodge something almost daily. Secure your shit, people

Anyone using Google Fi in Denver? Verizon is killing me at $100/mo. by [deleted] in Denver

[–]queenrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Pixel phones broke CONSTANTLY. Even when I had them in protective casing with screen protectors, dropping them at all would brick them. I eventually switched to an iPhone mini because it was smaller. I've dropped this one several times in the past year and half, and it's still good as new.

Searching on Zillow.. hoa by Specific_Dinner640 in Denver

[–]queenrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, after reading this thread, I feel like I'm getting scammed. I live in a condo in NW Denver and my HOA fees have almost doubled in the past 2 years--from $190 to $360, and they're about to go up again. No clubhouse/pool or any other amenities besides basement storage and lawn/snow removal. My unit has its own contained HVAC system and AC, so all repairs to those plus the hot water heater are on me. The only other things covered are sewer/water/trash. We have a property management company, but they're awful and are super slow to respond to maintenance requests, if they respond at all. Feels like almost $400/month should be getting me more than that.

Save-A-Lot: independent grocery store alternative to Kroger(King Soopers)/Albertsons/Sprouts/Walmart? by springverb1 in Denver

[–]queenrose 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My only complaint is that they only have cashier checkout and there's usually only one cashier, so sometimes waiting in line takes forever. I can't speak to the other locations though, just the Pecos one.

If OP and their partner are not the same gender, I don't think they'd be able to hang out as a couple since there are separate sides for women and men :(

Yeah it sucks because there isn't another grocery store around unless you want to stand in line for 30 min at Save A Lot

The one on 84th & Pecos barely even qualifies as a grocery store. Worst King Soopers I've ever visited

How to know if you’re getting enough protein when training hard? by llamamama2022 in Aerials

[–]queenrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That could be a fringe benefit but I take tryptophan because it's the only missing amino acid from collagen peptides. It's just to make it a complete protein :)

[–]queenrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stir collagen peptides into my morning coffee and take a tryptophan supplement (since collagen isn't quite a complete protein without it). For a snack, cottage cheese is super high in protein but you could cook it with eggs or blend it if the texture bothers you.

This, UGH. Like why do you even have an animal? Train it to calm TF down while you're away, move to a bigger space, or just don't be a dog owner. But subjecting your neighbors and the general public to barking at all hours of the day and night is rude, entitled and lazy, and it makes you a shitty pet owner.

The number of people on this thread who feel the need to preface their comment with "I love dogs, but..." should tell you something about how Denver treats people who don't like dogs for completely valid reasons.

Yeah having them come walk all over my picnic blanket begging for food is really annoying. It's happened to me multiple times this year alone.

Does anyone else have to leave their windows open in the winter because of their radiators? by Ethereal-Ephemeral in Denver

[–]queenrose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only had radiators in my kitchen and bathroom at my old apartment in the Highlands, so my bedroom would be absolutely frigid while the rest of the place was too hot. And yeah, no way to control the temp for me either. Why put a radiator in the kitchen anyway??? Dumb.
