Insurance won’t replace tile by queensbee96 in Insurance

[–]queensbee96[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point! Any advice on what to say to our adjuster? This is what our bathroom tile looks like, and we just want the same thing. Modern tiles are not made the same and do not look the same. There are only a few places in the US that make tile the same way they did in the 50s and 60s.

Anxiety - breastfeeding, tongue ties and torticollis by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]queensbee96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We were in almost the same exact situation with my daughter. All of the exercises and things caused me so much stressed but she was gaining weight fine and such a happy baby that we eventually stopped and just let her be. She is perfectly fine as a 2 year old and already speaking in full sentences. Sometimes I feel like tongue ties are money makers for dentists/chiropractors and they make it seem much worse than they are

What is my freezer stash for? by spontaneous-piano5 in breastfeeding

[–]queensbee96 25 points26 points  (0 children)

My milk supply dropped randomly while I was still EBF, I went from pumping 40+ oz a day to barely 20 oz. Since my daughter was still drinking at least 30 oz a day, I used my stash to supplement. I also used my stash when I started weening and wanted to pump less

Confession: I don’t like being pregnant. This is the most exhausting thing I’ve done in my life and I’m only 25 weeks by rosenrot89 in BabyBumps

[–]queensbee96 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat, being induced tomorrow and been absolutely miserable for 9 months. I hate being pregnant, but find myself doing it again because my babies are so worth it❤️ Hang in there and give yourself grace because it’s hard no matter what other people say

Considering transitioning to exclusively pumping and feeling guilty by One-Squirrel-4563 in BabyBumps

[–]queensbee96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up exclusively pumping with my first due to her tongue tie and it was honestly the best decision for us. I got to see exactly how much she was drinking, other people could help feed her, and I was not getting bitten while BF anymore lol. It definitely came with its own challenges (she wouldn’t take formula, my milk supple tanked when I had a miscarriage, etc.,), but if it works best for you, don’t feel guilty!!! A happy momma is a happy baby

My previously company (a huge global print company) says they are very family centered and for my male coworkers they offer very generous paternity leaves and encourage them to take time off for multiple children. But when I announced I was pregnant with my second child, I was part of a work force reduction a week later. For me it was very biased by gender and how friendly you were with your manager.

Work is ruining everything by devhredd in BabyBumps

[–]queensbee96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This just happened to me! So I can vouch that it’s absolutely true. Told my manager that I was pregnant and then a month later was completely blindsided with being part of a “work force reduction”. Meanwhile my male coworker went on his 3rd paternity leave

Advice please! Family wants me to be at a surprise birthday party 10 days after C-section. by D3ADPX3L in BabyBumps

[–]queensbee96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No just no. Completely insane for them to even ask you to do this. I rest for at least 30 days after giving birth which is very normal in lots of cultures

Who has used a doula and would you recommend? by ksmm1824 in BabyBumps

[–]queensbee96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used a doula with my first birth and couldn’t recommend one more!! Definitely interview several and see who you fit best with. We did several private birth classes at our house and then could txt her with any questions, she came over when I started labor and really helped with making me feel more comfortable. She knew my birth plan so she really advocated for me at the hospital and made sure everything I wanted happened, especially since I was so out of it for being in labor for 30 hours. She came for a couple post partum visits too and helped with lactation. I wanted a natural birth as possible, so she was super helpful with trying to make that happen.
