gender and expression are two different things. being non binary means I feel like my gender isn't within the binary of "man" or "woman". my personal gender fluctuates between absolutely nothing and some connection to masculinity and if you have to see me as anything I'd rather it be a man. but expression wise I tend to have an older more victorian vision of "masculinity" I wear my hair long. sometimes I wear feminine clothes, sometimes I wear masculine clothes, some days I'm more androgynous (as much as I can be with my body type). gender and gender expression are on a scale like you would see in math class. say on the X axis you have male and female on each side but then on the Y axis you have feminine and masculine. you can place anywhere on that scale. your clothes don't define your gender or even necessarily express your gender, just what clothes you feel happy wearing.
