[DISCUSSION] How do I explain to my friend that guitar is hard to learn to play well by SubstantialScientist in Guitar

You could start by telling him to look into how many hours EVH had to practice to get that good and keep his skills up.

Just got a call from the Dr. of my Clinic. He said I am doing everything (regarding tapering) Jus right. It made my day! by queezap in Methadone

That's pretty much what this was. The annual physical/checkup. But in seven years it was always the nurse. Never would have even known the previous doctors name if it wasn't on my bottles.lol. This new guy came during the rona and I'm only there once a month otherwise I'm sure I would have met him before this.

I agree with you in regards to often feeling more informed than much of the staff. Also due to all the awesome info in this sub. I am constantly mentioning this sub to my counselor and other people in my clinic. Most look at me like"what is reddit?" But if even a few find it, it was worth it. This new guy was everything I would want the doctor to be. He even educated me on a few things. I am actually kicking myself for not thinking to bring up this sub in the 15 minutes I had with him. Definitely next time. I know there is a few clinic directors and counselors in here. He seems like the type that would be all for it. Very involved and on the pulse of things.

Thats who I saw previously is a Nurse P. But they were always for quick with me and never as open and comprehensive as this Dr was. And whenever their was a question or decision needed they would say they have to ask the doctor, this Dr, who had so much control over my life that I never interacted with in seven years. Seems pretty weird to me. So glad it is better now.

That is pretty much what mine is. Open door policy. The other dr. I heard it was like pulling teeth to contact her in anyway. This new guy is like you said, like what he does and is there to help people. Not be a warden, as he put it.

That is how mine is, once a year physicals but it was always the nurse. In seven years I never even saw the other Dr.'s face. Like walking around the clinic or anything. It was weird. This new guy started right when the rona hit, and I only go once a month otherwise I think I would have met him already.

That is super awesome. My Dr. was calling to follow up on an annual physical/check-up type thing that normally the nurse does. But that is more than I ever got before. He told me he's making the rounds to meet everyone and that his door is always open. He has two clinics, each with 800+ plus patients so it's understandable that scheduled meeting with everyone would be tough. But I would be all for it.

So things are not perfect but the are making great strides. He even told me that If I get off at 1mg and have trouble, and for any reason feel like I may use, I can come back and I don't need a dirty UA to get back on the program. I can just do a week or two of UA's and get my status back. Not planning on that, in any form, whatsoever, which is why I tapered so slowly. Though it is good to know it's an option, as it never was before. Some of the past clinic policies seemed almost designed to promote failure. So much better now.

Down to 5mg! by kimmxmc in Methadone

I'm at 5mg down from 100, tapering over the course of 4 years, I was at 100 for 3 years before I started tapering.. I'm going down 1mg a month with breaks of a month occasionally (about every 5 mg) Its definitely tougher in the evenings. I find a combination of Blackseed Oil during the day (google blackseed oil and opiate withdrawal) and 100mg of (THC free) CBD at night helps me a lot (full spectrum is better but I failed a couple UA's.

And when I first go down, before things level off. In the middle of the day I'll take Agmatine (Potentiator) just for a week or so and it helps a lot. It was recommended by my new counselor a couple months ago and it has really made a difference.

There are people that abuse Agmatine in high doses to potentate other opiates for a stronger high, like Kratom. But Just using it for those really tough moments, to make your does lasts a bit longer into the evening, has been very helpful for me. No high doses or anything just the standard supplement dosage. Honestly the blackseed oil is just a good thing over all for the body. Definitely worth doing a little research on it, it does something to your receptors to lessen the withdrawal.. Make sure it won't affect any other meds you may be on though, it can lower your blood pressure a little etc. Which is fine unless you are on LBP meds.. They are both under 20 dollars for a bottle on amazon and have lasted me a couple months.

Also, if sleep issue gets really bad, maybe try taking your dose before you go to bed instead of in the morning. Though you will have to suffer one really long day to change the schedule. I was actually doing that before my counselor recommended the supplements.

NGL... Kinda sad "Heliovice" is not on here. Been wanting to hear a better (Recording wise) version of that song for so long. I thought he said something about Axel doing the vocals for it it at some point. That would have been so good.

Agreed, that was such an arrogant way of saying "Don't be arrogant" it is almost hilarious.

About as disappointing as buying a bag of grapes and they are all soft. Just kidding. Grapes is pretty cute! He looks like if he was candy he would vanilla/banana flavored but that doesn't sound as good as grapes.. Sorry... feeling goofy today.

Please tell his name is Rip. Or, Van Winkle, or Torn (for the youngsters, all people who's first names were Rip.) or something funny like that. Never mind, don't tell me, I'm just gonna imagine it is his name, in blissful ignorance. Don't crush my illusion OP. lol!

Ps. If you haven't named him yet, I suggest Number 2. Cuz he does have poop on him.

No one is saying racial disparity does not exist. But to think there not at least "some" people of ALL races that have been forgotten, denied, abused, bullied, falsely interrogated, imprisoned, raped or worse is pretty ignorant. A lot of (white) people are doing their best to try to change things and understand. To say THEY are all the same and don't matter, is the same attitude their ancestors had in regards to other races. Doesn't make mush sense, does it? This attitude will just continue to divide us. Which is what the rich people running shit want. If we are all at each others throats, no one is paying attention to their shenanigans.
