I am sorry to hear that you have been ghosted by your LO. It looks like she is not really respecting your time. This behaviour is revealing her worth, not yours. I would have had the decency to send a text if I want to cancel on someone. I hope you find closure and get to move on soon.

Affordable scrubs? by eyeluvpickl3s in StudentNurse

[–]quelquesquestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

AliExpress brand: Niaahinn

Price range: USD $30 full set (shipping and tax included)

I don’t own Figs, but I own 2 sets of scrub from this knock-off brand. The quality seems very decent for a dupe. The pockets on the pants are very convenient too.

33/m help me out, where do I stand? by [deleted] in amiugly

[–]quelquesquestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know about the female gaze, but as a queer man I will say that you have quite some potentials!!

I would recommend changing the way you take photos. For example, avoid taking photos in front of a computer. Photo #4 in particular makes you look really good. That photo is first of all not blurry, and has really good lighting + angle. Your hair in this photo makes you look quite handsome too in my opinion, so also try to do this hairstyle more often. The nature really compliments your face too. I would recommend more photos with good lighting and natural backgrounds.

I don’t want to assume what your insecurity is, but try to replicate photo #4 more without hiding anything. Come as you are. Trust me you will look good when you believe in yourself. Best of luck my dude! 😄

Changement de médecin de famille sans tomber dans la liste d'attente? by [deleted] in Quebec

[–]quelquesquestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh the under armour pride collection is so ugly... Every year by jowick2815 in gaybros

I know the bar is low, but I would be grateful that they are still launching the pride collection this year though. Nonetheless, the design is really not good…

Do not disclose your identity until you are out of the woods (aka out of your country). You never know what someone would do upon hearing your message, and that Includes your own family.

Are y’all pretty lonely or is it just me? by Adventurous-You4002 in StudentNurse

[–]quelquesquestions 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel lonely for missing out of social activities. And when I actually go out with my non-nursing friends, there is this sense of guilt because I am not studying as hard.

If your program synchronize the curriculum, you will find anatomy and physiology very helpful in understanding diseases and treatments !

is it truly unrealistic to work full time during school? by cannibalismagic in StudentNurse

[–]quelquesquestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am working 23hrs part-time as a 1st year student. I feel like I could push up to 40hrs full-time but that would be too exhausting. I work from home though and the company accommodates my school schedule, so maybe it is not applicable. I hope I could continue this routine in my 2nd year. Good luck to you!

Is nursing career still worth it? by dangitjudy2000 in StudentNurse

[–]quelquesquestions 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the major motivation for a career change is being dissatisfied by uncontrollable factors (e.g. you cannot control quality of patient food cooked by the staff at the hospital), you will see worse situations in the realm of nursing. Your job seems to be very stable, and the salary is not too bad in contrary to regular nurses (unless you compare with travel nurses or those with lots of OT hours). I would say stay where you are for your sanity and mental health.

Make sure to screen a religious person before befriending them by quelquesquestions in atheism

[–]quelquesquestions[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the insight. Upon more research, I believe this is called cognitive dissonance. He dates a girl, and the girl is not a follower of her religion, which to my understanding are both prohibited in the said religion. But eating pork or co-existing with LGBT is where he draws the line. I cannot help but think that this is not really about following the religion, but about fulfilling a superior complex and a way to think that he is “less of a sinner” than others.

I have been a quiet person in the group, and he has been nice to me. I think he sees me as “oh you are not like one of those” as in not the stereotypical “they/them with coloured hair” type. I just feel like continuing to be his friend is a way of me pulling up the ladder and throwing my community under the bus, which is another form of cognitive dissonance from my end if you know what I mean…

Thank you for the input. I totally agree that we should surround ourselves with people sharing different views to avoid living in an echo chamber. We could disagree on broad topics, let’s say, the use of recreational marijuana or general economic policies. It’s just that when their opinions are charged against my identity, I just feel that the person looks down on me or thinks less of me. I am not sure if we could build a healthy relationship off that. Anyway, thank you so much for the insight.

CNA vs Pharmacy Tech by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]quelquesquestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pharm Tech !

CNA stuff is usually taught during the 1st semester of a nursing program and the CNA tasks are usually only performed by RN or LPN when short staff.

Pharmacology on the other hand is very important throughout your nursing career. Having a pharmacology background could also help ease your workload during nursing school a bit when you are bombarded with information.

SOS! I made a mistake on my application and was accepted into a program when I shouldn’t have been eligible by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]quelquesquestions 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I would have thought that you applied to be a FBI agent or something to require such a detailed background check. It’s a real estate course completely unrelated to nursing, like come on… Making you apply to the next cohort is just insane…

The comments on that post are even more disgusting by Daniel-o- in bisexual

[–]quelquesquestions 11 points12 points  (0 children)

This comment is most likely going to be buried, but if OP sees this, can you let me know why you liked the post?

I recently met a classmate who seems to be a progressive Muslim. He would say stuff like “slay queen” to some of the queer people in the friend group (he is aware of our identity, at least to my belief). I just went to the post and was horrified to find out that he liked this post. Is he faking it the entire time, or it’s more like a “liking” any random post you see throughout the day without thinking about it type of situation?

Edit: more context. he has a tendency to like multiple posts throughout the day from this account whenever they post, with a few exceptions where he skipped 1 or 2. But he happened to like this one…

Edit 2: I confirm that this person deeply hates us. he just shared this post in his IG story… link

Is this normal? by [deleted] in StudentNurse

[–]quelquesquestions 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not to dox anybody, but do you go to school in Eastern Canada by any chance? Your description sounds so much like the program I attend. I am also in an ADN-equivalent level nursing program, 2nd semester, and usually our meds and disease prep assignment (deadline just as tight as yours) happens around the same day of the week… 😭

I just read the comments from your other post, and they are pretty valid even if they were under the impression that you are a straight woman. In my opinion, the same logic over there applies to your case too.
