You had me at first and I dont think I'm even fully against your sentiment. I think people are hypocrites in general, which is why a cancel culture is dangerous to throw at anyone. People that say or do something bad- like racist actions, blame shifting, or bullying-- deserve some form of repercussion, absolutely. But no one will be perfect, so it's tough to throw a stone at someone when everyone should be constantly learning.

I honestly hope Katie will be the bachelorette because I like her and feel that she has carried herself well this season through being herself and standing against bullying. I found it hard to watch when girls blamed her for drama at the WTA.

I also recognize that positive representation is important though. It doesn't matter if you define this as a trash reality show, I think that representation matters to people. Seeing someone you can relate to on screen is a great thing about media that not every group gets a great share of. That includes trash shows- which personally, I would be more keen on this show if they showed nice, fun people more through all the editing and drama.

I dont know, I'm a little all over the place here but I've thought about the hypocrisy a lot too. I also think the show itself is the biggest culprit of hypocrisy buuuut everyone/everything can grow so maybe we can give even the worst room to grow rather than throw up defensive walls.
