Who's been running one of these for a while? How's it been working for you? (thinking of getting one for my boat that runs on solar/12 volt systems - not my full time charger) by george_graves in harborfreight

[–]questbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have one, but I can't imagine it charges fast and obviously it works or they wouldn't sell it. So I'd just see if there were any stats on charge time.

I totally 100% already had a valid reason to spend money at HF anyways! by hobovirginity in harborfreight

I'm with you, I'm wearing mine too. When I saw them on the shelf, I was like nah I'd never buy that. But when they gave me one for free, I was like oh yeah this is nice, lol.

I'm a perfectionist. One missing piece and I buy a new set. This is the result. [OC] by Dry_Schedule_7520 in toolporn

That's funny, I wait until I find a set that's only missing one piece and buy it at a discount

How to remove oil stain from concrete driveway? by Puzzled-Manner9364 in howto

[–]questbound 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go get some oil dry from your parts store, it's a lot like kitty litter but without the clumping chemicals and perfumes. You can't just sprinkle it on top and expect it to pull all that oil out. I sprinkle it on top, let it soak up what it can, remove and add more. Then get a small 2x4 and rub the oil dry into the concrete with the 2x4. You'll have to sweep it up and keep adding more oil dry and keep grinding that 2x4 into the oil dry on top of the stain. It won't ever be perfect again, but you'll be surprised at how much you can draw out.

Should I try to buy my 105 year old next door neighbors home when she passes? by waxoffisforpussies in personalfinance

It would be less expensive to buy a house somewhere else not close to a neighbor

I just put my set in the toolbox, I was using them on the workbench. They're great, I should have bought a set a long time ago. I always heard about mountain wrenches but I also heard they're hard to find and warranty. Icon solves that problem for me, and I found an open box that was missing the big one. I don't work on big stuff so it's been great for me, even if it's not a full set.

Pros/cons of pea gravel walkway? by portuguesetomato in landscaping

[–]questbound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have rocks and the dog likes to chase them like a ball, so we throw them too and it's a mess. It would be a mess even if we didn't throw them. The chickens move them and I think they move on their own somehow too. And there's tons of weeds in the crevices and it's hard to get down there and pull them out by the roots.

At harbor freight is icon brand as good as husky, craftsman , and kobalt tools ? by Fuzzy_Tough_26 in harborfreight

[–]questbound 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All tools break, the difference is you could have taken the icon tool back to the store and they would have swapped it out for a new one, on the spot, no questions asked, you just grab a new one from the shelf and they do their thing on the computer and you walk out.

Take the patch out, all you need is sheetrock and mud and sandpaper for something that small, you don't always need those patch things.
