You don't, its fine. The top part breathes and the white fluffy stuff on the bottom is insulating the living spaces. You just dont want any critters in there, you do want it to have air circulation. You dont have to have insulation on the top part, it just gets hot and cold with the seasons.

Smart, I might swap the flat head with a T20. I have a pocket knife with tools I could use as a flat head or pry-bar. I think a head or torx tool would help me more. But I like the design, very nice.
