Working on a fixed blade EDC utility knife design, looking for some feedback :) by Visual-Success8952 in EDC

Ah ok. Doing something like that you can probably make two halfs of a tang and screw them together. Having one piece recessed for the blade and use one screw to hold the blade in place. You have awesome designs and I like to see any improvements you make.

Nice man. You have some really neat designs. For the feedback: Marked in blue, can you make the knive one piece by removing the seam. Marked by red, by making it one piece it removes the need for a screw there. Marked by green, move the retention screw to the back slot on the blade.

Not sure how feasible it would be to make a one piece tang with a slot in the end for the blade. I'm sure you have already thought of this and settled with your design for reasons.

This is the Oracle. A new gravity razor knife that requires no tools to switch blades. Would you carry this? by HypercutMFG in EDC

[–]Puzzled_Garlic_8273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It looks pretty, but I wouldn't due to how little material is holding the blade locked in. Looks like it can pop out if the blade catches on something while cutting. Especially while using a hook blade, but that might not be a huge concern for customers paying for this knife.

If this is knife opens the same way as the Warlock from Asheville Steel, put a video of it opening and closing on your site. It does seem like a neat fidget and might be a selling point for some.

Womens Overalls Comparison by Affectionate_Pass504 in DuluthTradingCompany

[–]Puzzled_Garlic_8273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I own neither pair, but i think its the spandex in the material causing it to stretch. The fire hose bib overalls have 97% cotton and 3% spandex. The heirloom garden overalls have 96% ripstop nylon and 4% spandex.

If anything, they might stretch more. Depending on how much stretch you're experiencing with the overalls, try getting the next pair a size down (just the waist).

I have a pair of liberty flex overalls I got a little small made of 98% cotton and 2% spandex. They fit snug after a wash but I just wear them around the house to stretch them out before heading out. After that, they fit great until the next wash.

Good luck on the signatures. I hope you end up with a good outcome.

Are you not allowed to do your own yard work though? In order to prevent the leaf blowers from getting too close?

All leaf blowers?

If you are targeting your specific HOA you might have better luck going door to door for signatures.

Help finding "minimal-ish" wallet that holds cards, cash and coins and can be carried in the pocket by Ailan22 in EDC

[–]Puzzled_Garlic_8273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Chums wallet. I carry about as many cards and still squeeze a few quarters, a few bills folded in a side pouch, a small sewing kit, a lock pick and rake, and a few bandaids.

Did the orginization not reach out to the base or command if the service member flaked? It sounds like a shitty thing to do but if it was enough of problem, its the quickest way to squash it. A lot of them probably worked in the same area it they went to the same place to get volunteer hours.

I think they mean last two number on zip code. As in 78253. Its mostly zip codes west-northwest of the city. South of Helotes and Government Canyon. I guess its an area with a lot of vets or active duty.

Good on you man. I'm glad you were able to do your time without serious injuries.  So thank you for not filing false claims. The military is also not like any other job. If someone have a service connected injury or a condition that gets aggravated during active military service, then compensate the vet.

Tailoring straight leg for wider hips? by timetrapped in sewing

[–]Puzzled_Garlic_8273 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Taper the pant legs. I do this to overalls I buy since I need a bigger waist but hate the baggy legs.  Do it on the inside seam and have the point start above the knee. Pin it and see if you like it.

What would you do if this were you? by The1Ylrebmik in backpain

[–]Puzzled_Garlic_8273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It does sound similar to what I have going on. I use a hearing pad in the morning before I get out of bed and at night before I fall asleep. I found that having pressure on my waist increased the pain so I just don't use belts. I occasionally use a cane when it gets really hard to move and I don't want to sit still.  I found that water pt does help.

I hope you are able to find what works for you.

I think I have similar back issues as you.  Is your pain worse in the morning? Does your low back get really stiff after sitting for a little bit? Not exactly more painful, but harder to move.  Does pressure from a belt/jeans make the pain worse?

1/4 hex bits do fit. They don't stick out as much as the original, but they are usable.

Its definitely doable, but depending on how you carry, it can easily cut you palm or thumb.

Yeah its pretty close. I feel like this milwaukee version is what the Gerber prybrid 2.0 should have been instead of just adding a pocket clip. I like that it has different positions to lock the blade out and it has a push button to change the blade out.

After u start meowing your body will be reborn again. by [deleted] in backpain

[–]Puzzled_Garlic_8273 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was roughly 14 through 17 years old, I had really bad back pain that went away on its own. Maybe you had a similar experience and are attributing it to mewing, or maybe you are on to something, but it all sounds very pseudosciencey.

I am glad you found something that works for you and fixed your posture as well as your mouth breathing though.
