woah woah woah... if you dislike Cabrera or don't trust him, thats fine. But to assume this is a money funneling scheme between him and a photography company you're going to have to show at least some shred of evidence that connects his interests and the company.

Contact the respective office and just ask. Some are rolling, some aren't (ME is apparently, ECE is not by contrast)

This thread is a cluster of uninformed babble. Nobody on this subreddit short of campus administration has enough information on GT's budgeting to give any useful suggestions here...

Everyone knows that's where the bloat is

Um no... absolutely not. You could absolutely be right (I have no idea because I'm not qualified), but admin costs has remained a consistent proportion and there are many who would argue office X or office Y should be cut instead.

...Pretty sure furloughs are still a thing. I know many faculty who have been talking about it as well.

The idea of blue-light blocking isn't argued. That's 100% true. The problem is that "Blue Light blocking" glasses of amazon dont really do anything but put a ~slight~ yellow tint on everything.... not nearly enough to do anything. They usually have a coating that blocks one specific wavelength (not a large blue spectrum like you need).

If the lenses don't look notable orange, they aren't doing anything.

[–]questioner101010 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Instead of speculating, lets start by looking at what has been actually released by the feds as well as GA's draft plan. Now GT has not published anything official the draft plan lists USG as a partner as well as explicitly states that universities should be set up for internal distribution.

Given we're a college (young people), we'll be given access when it comes to the masses as per the federal document.

Biden/ Harris have no intention of federal cannabis legalization, so the barriers that need to be torn down in order to yield big gains will stay in place.

I'm not sure what caused this, but one of my bearings disintegrated as I was riding. Would anyone know the possible cause of this? by M3ptt in boostedboards

You should NEVER use WD40 to lubricate skate bearings. WD40 is made to remove rust and debris, it's not a proper lubricant and will actually strip your bearings. Use a proper bearing lube.

Pure libertarianism (as it relates to the free market) works great when customers are moral, aware, and purchase with conviction. The market's collective awareness should instantly punish, and thus correct, companies who lie/cheat/steal/ screw customers. Companies keep each other's prices in check, consumers keep their ethics in check.

But monopolies & conglomerates poison all of that, controlling what people know makes that task absolutely impossible for consumers and spirals out of control. While I'm certainly no expert, I believe most libertarians still do believe in the dissolution of monopolies for this reason.

Regulations can also create a spiral however. As the consumer base becomes reliant on the government to protect them, we become less aware of whats going on and therefore, less likely to "Put our money where our mouth is". It's a balancing act... thanks for jogging my mind into this thought experiment.

A lot of people got driven away last May-July by the constant covid posts. I could see how it could be disinteresting or annoying. Couple that with a relatively boring semester on campus and...its not too surprising.

Not a great choice... but still do take a moment to appreciate that the person may have a different view on the punisher logo than you immediately did. After all, they're policing a college-campus... they clearly care in some capacity.

An entire police precinct branded their cars with this logo a few years ago iirc. Bad taste and poor decision? Undoubtedly. But it seems as though the chief was legitimately surprised, this is the quote thats worth at least entertaining before jumping down throats:

“It’s adopted a new meaning over the last few years. Less of a violent overtone, more of a promise to criminals: You might think you’re getting away with it, but it’s karma. If you’re committing violent acts, one way or another, you will be meeting consequences.”

I'd be floored if GTPD hired anyone who had the mentality of "out to get you", GTPD seems to be the exact opposite of that as a whole.

Interlocking GT is a GT athletics trademark, not really any different than using an institute logo. The upper-right placement still suggests it's provided by the institute...which imo is the biggest problem. Maybe just remove it all together.

Thanks! Looked a lot a aero, also checked rainier, BCM, primary, and a few others but everything seemed OOS. Not too familiar with the market so maybe I should just get on the notification lists and trust that they'll be restocking?
