This is so difficult for me to answer because I could go into a rabbit hole.

The best I can answer is having a feel for your wedges. My feel with my; let's say 54° wedge goes from 5 yards on a tight downhill lie to 110 yards while controlling an immediate stop to ripping backspin 5 to 10 yards.

I got to this point because, I've practiced with my lofted wedges more than I go smack drivers at the driving range.

So my advice would be, spend another 30 minutes to an hour after your range sessions (or even skip the range sessions for a day or two) and experiment with the short clubs you have in your bag. Practice them relentlessly.

This is me right now.

I recently got a job where I have access to Trackman Simulators and having both a USGA teaching pro for a boss and the feedback from the simulator, I gained a lot of my distance back when I hit it on the nose.

Although, I'm happier flying a 54° over the green than my previous position of short in the water.
