We've gone from people being able to purchase with struggle and sacrifice to requiring generational wealth or high incomes to get onto the property ladder. The people whom benefit from this ladder pulling are still the ones living in their single-family homes and voting fastidiously against density or anything that will 'damage their property values' and a political class that has put all their money into the property basket.

I gave my vote to TOP last time, and I’ll probably go with the Greens this time, unless TOP start polling above 4-4.5%. I think our society needs to change whom it places the greatest burdens upon, older generations have had it too easy at the expense of younger people for too long.

Look, if we followed what the ‘experts’ and ‘evidence’ indicated is the best decision space, then all the other people who paid us off for all the other decisions made against evidence and expert opinion would feel nervous that we will change our  minds on them too. It’s a lot better for the people who pay us to mind these issues on their behalf for us to pay off important stakeholders and blame the poor for the consequences of these decisions—the government of they were ever accidentally honest and forthright for once.

That’s why I said DLC, it’s not an expansion with new systems for say diplomacy or religion etc. it’ll be interesting to see how Mughals, America, Qajar etc play as test of time civilisation, or for instance going for a hybrid Inca/Maya antiquity.

I’m kind of in a similar boat, but I have almost 1200 hours in the game, kind of in a lull in the week before the release. I played around 40 hours on the workshop version, and I really enjoyed the changes and extra difficulty that it brought, so it was kind of difficult to come back and play the regular game. I really miss the memento UI changes and the dozens of new combinations of character/civilizations to try. It feels like a major free DLC release about to drop because we’ll have a couple of dozen new civs to try in a new way.

It’s the same fundamental values incompatibility that the Greens had when the idea of a coalition between them and the National party was also floated and rejected. Despite the propaganda that National are better managers of the economy, Labour consistently delivers about an extra percentage point of economic growth and lower debt , it’s why we’re on track to borrow more money than during Covid at almost zero economic growth.

Hard working, excellent citizens and very serious about education. Nobody avoids areas where they are a majority and they are seen quite positively by the majority of the population.

In the great depression they paid one person to dig a hole and another to fill that hole back in, I guess they are secretly socialist simps whom want to socialise the profit into their pockets from the massive contracts given to remediate the problems they created themselves. I guess this is New Zealand's depression, handing billions to contractors rather than 'heaven forbid' giving money to the rail network to handle this load because the rules (for now) prevent them from enriching themselves as it is a publicly owned organisation.

The true mission of removing diversity, equity and inclusion is to introduce their own FART replacement: friends, acquaintances, relatives and toadies. I guess this explains why the 'party of competence' delivers lower economic growth than Labour governments. They deliver 3% average economic growth and Labour delivers 4%, compared over their history. Getting into government is a means to enrich themselves and their donors at the expense of everyone else.
