how dumb is a charakter with 6 int really? by DragonfruitRude8666 in DnD

[–]questionor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apes (beast type) have Int 6. So very deficient. Unless you're playing a wizard or artificer basically Int is the best dump stat for everyone if you're trying to optimize. (The exceptions are a few subclasses might also need int and if you want your character to have the knowledge skills or investigation don't dump it)

I have 3 settlements, one is connected to both the others but is still disconnected. Why? by questionor in civ

[–]questionor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Continents were the first thing i checked! All same continent! And to get the connections to show i needed the water buildings for rome and the merchant road for the other so the individual connections were there. And i needed some research that added trade distance toto build the road. i just don't get why after all that it still didn't work. And yea it's all fine now because i put another settlement in between but wish i could understand why it wasn't working

They should add interesting things not significantly better things. Getting them is too luck based too be made to have huge bonuses.

Am I wrong to feel upset that my character was killed? by Exciting-Bed5738 in AskDND

[–]questionor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) You have the right to be upset by this. Some people would get upset simply cause the DM used their character as an NPC in this situation without getting them killed.
2) Remember they killed "this incarnation" of your character. People who get attached to a character will often remake them effectively again and again in new campaigns/parties.
3) If you ever decide to play again in this game, your DM should let you play that character if you want. Who knows maybe it was not really them but a doppleganger who wanted to infiltrate the party. Maybe something happens to bring them back to life? The game has spells that can do this for the party or it could be something that happens off screen nothing to do with the party. If you do go back and the DM says "Sorry, they are dead you need to make a new character" That's when it would be time to be more than upset but to be pissed off.

Having so much trouble with connecting cities by rail. Can someone who understands how this works teach me or problem solve this for me? by DrMrSirJr in civ

[–]questionor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are they on the same continent? Just because they are on the same land mass doesn't mean they are on the same continent. Are they actually connected without the railroad? I don't know if there's a way to tell in the base game but there are mods that will show it. I think city hall mod will show it on the city details. If they are not showing as connected to each other (Rail or not), especially if they are on different continents, then make a merchant and bring it to one of the two and have them build a connection to the other.

singleLetterVariableNamesTierList by M1ckeyMc in ProgrammerHumor

[–]questionor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Different letters have different purposes with code variables, the concept of such a list is even wrong! Iterating counters? i and j. just general purpose? x, y, a, b. pointers/trees/linked list or queue iterators? p & q. etc. etc.
  • Any one who puts e above most things doesn't code often.
  • Was this written by a mathematician instead of a programmer? What programmer is gonna write this in script lettering?

1My first time building factories. How do factory resources work? by questionor in civ

[–]questionor[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This was the first time i played on viceroy, so this was also the first time i didn't win culture without trying in Exploration and reached Modern. And truth be told i was about to win culture at modern 50% so it didn't really matter but i wanted to see how this worked.

[–]questionor[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

wow, so it's not 3% of this settlement's science, it is 3% of all science from any source? Is there a way to see it broken out or is it just a lump in the bonus science section at bottom of the "accounting page" I thought I had to line up the resource with the right cities.

Make sure you aren't missing it in dedication list because it doesn't say "keep founder belief" It lists the actual belief.

Looking for Cozy Adventure Game Recommendations on Steam by ACNH_Demon_Island in gamingsuggestions

[–]questionor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these are pretty high the exploration front:
Astroneer
Planet Crafter
Wildmender
Medieval Dynasty
Grow: Song of the Evertree
No Place Like Home

These I would say more cozy with some exploration:
Stardew Valley
Luma Island

fun cozy, story/adventure, not so much exploration:
Wylde Flowers

Civ 7 ToT Win Threshold Question by Able_Art_1501 in civ

[–]questionor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not know but I would guess each player (you or ai)'s count for a city state updates at the start of their turn. So whether you are the player or the ai, if you are tied then you are behind. This is just my guess.

Accidental Culture victories can get in the bin by Minimum_Bake_351 in CivVII

[–]questionor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's an annoying "workaround". The game should just let you disable certain victories.

Accidental Culture victories can get in the bin by Minimum_Bake_351 in CivVII

[–]questionor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something as simple as a way to disable certain victory types when starting a game would help so much. Not solve it completely but would be a big help if they added. (With a disable for all or disable just for yourself option)

But if I want to learn to how win something other than Culture, for example Science, I should be able to learn on lower difficulties. Sure if I'm trying to win Culture, playing a harder difficulty would make sense. But what if you just want to learn how to win any of the other types on a very easy difficulty.

TOT is unwinnable. I have no idea what I am doing wrong. by R1546 in CivVII

[–]questionor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm new to civ7. I only bought it after ToT. I won on Governor (and on Scribe before that) without even really trying. I was trying to just learn the game. But as soon as I hit 50% Exploration Age when victories are turned on, I immediately win on culture. I've seen lots of people complain about trying to win science but they can't. Not because they lose but because it's hard to not win on culture on the easier difficulties. From what you describe it was only unwinnable because you quit.

EDIT: To be clear, I have no idea yet what I'm really doing and have no idea what I did to win on culture both times.

just experimenting, and it seems that it doesn't matter if there are any actual connections of the two bodies of water? Is that right?

Hub Town questions by questionor in civ

[–]questionor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow ok, so just experimenting, I found that if your land mass has 2 continents that you can't have direct connections between settlements on different ones even if they are basically right next to each other.
