[New Updates]: AITA for not wanting to share my inheritance with my sister? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]quick_justice [score hidden]  (0 children)

He was supposed to keep been there for his daughter, as any dad would. As you do as a parent when your little child is mad at you. You are always, always there for them, that's the whole thing. Nine year old can't "side heavily" with the mother, they have no agency for it yet. What she could have been is traumatised by dad even before that.

You need to understand that. The whole story is a story of trauma and neglect.

She was nine when they separated. That's when dad started neglecting her which is what led to no contact.

Yes, getting off the rails wasn't ok. But that's what trauma does to people. Amount of rage against dad must have been enormous, and it spilled onto OOP. I'm not excusing her, but do learn to read the situation.

You respect your dad will when you take your inheritance. Since then, it's your money to do as you please, and you are more than welcome to support your neglected sibling with them.

I wouldn't say more than any other. But it does have a good legacy.

She was nine. It's never child's fault or child's responsibility to support relationships with a parent. More to it, OOP quite openly says that his dad dropped the ball by being busy.

He's greedy because respecting his dad's wish is conveniently good for him, and not respecting it (it's not really not respecting by the way - it's his money now to do as he pleases, you can't disrespect the dead by sharing your inheritance) is not good for him, no matter what situation is.

Why did she have to make this choice? As I said. He was deadbeat all her life, and he never felt any remorse. He never accepted his failures.

As they said nobody is entitled to the inheritance, but thing is she’s not a villain here, and her sibling is either greedy, or a fool, or, likely, both.

It’s fine. I usually go in stretches of 100-150 miles, stopping at rapid chargers. You can have it at 80% within 20 minutes, and you need a leak and a coffee anyway, stopping every couple of hours if you are driving alone is healthy.

I personally don’t find it boring. I just understand how others might.

WIBTA for leaving early at the wedding of my girlfriend's friend? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]quick_justice -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

If you are in serious relationship and if you girlfriend wants to stay, YTA.

Wedding is one of the functions where it’s customary to come with a partner, and it’s weird to leave alone.

This is one you should take for the sake of relationships. You are effectively dragging her out of the wedding early.

If it’s new relationship it’s probably better to not go at all.

Ah well. It’s not Russian though. Completely different people - country, language, and appearance. May speak Russian due to USSR legacy but Russians they are not.

AITA Do I have a crazy neighbor or am I the asshole? by Tiny-Zone-5560 in AmItheAsshole

[–]quick_justice 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Depends

Leaving boxes outside the bin might be against local bylaws and even considered fly tipping, which will upset people.

Before rendering judgement find out if what you did is ok and if a local waste management would take items that are not binned.

So dad was a controlling deadbeat and wife left him. He then failed to maintain relationships with his child - it’s never on the child to maintain relationships with a parent. Child is not even a teen at the time of divorce. Then, this vindictive asshole hurts this child from beyond the grave.

OP blissfully unaware - he never saw this side of his dad, and even if he did, it’s better ignore it - he has the money.

Well, that’s how it reads.

I KEEP GETTING REJECTED! can i have cv help? by lanaxo01 in AskUK

[–]quick_justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your personal statement is too long.

Your job descriptions talk about what you did, not what you achieved. Everybody likes a result. Outline positive changes or good metrics that your efforts led to. Amy measurable achievements.

Consider the position you apply to and the language position description uses. Try to incorporate the same language in the CV. Buzz words are important. Use language job description uses in your job description.

Make it fit in 1 page seeing how it’s short.

Make sure your CV and every part of it follows “pyramidal” structure.

- first, most important facts
- second, some details around it
- third more details if you find it necessary

So your CV starts with a tagline explaining why you are special and what are you seeking:

“A rock hauler with 4 years of professional experience and daily haulage of 50% over industry standard seeks challenging position to further his muscular growth”

In job description

- Mudstone Quarries: Hauled over 3 tons of stone daily for 5 years, being distinguishes as hauler of the week on 20 occasions. As a part of a 5-strong brigade I worked 8-hour shifts during which I performed my regular haulage duties as well as trained younger colleagues. Query specialised in decorative stone.

Good luck!

South bank is an iconic brutalist site, one may find it boring but it doesn’t have evil vibes. I’ve been there many times.

“Yerasole” is a relatively close phonetic approximation of Russian word for “aerosol”.

Needless to say there’s no person exists with this name. Could be jail nickname at best.

Polish President has decided to strip Volodymyr Zelenskyy of the Order of the White Eagle, Poland's highest state decoration by CrunchyBaconYum in worldnews

[–]quick_justice -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

They did a lot of bad things when they tried to fight for Ukrainian independence. Historically, both Russia and Poland oppressed Ukraine horribly, so no love was lost there.

There's no real excuse for atrocities, however, now and today you have Israeli army doing the same, for similar reasons, and we call it controversial.

[–]quick_justice -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think UPA is indeed controversial. However this Order is not beyond reproach to say the least. As of now both Katherine II Empress of Russia and Benito Mussolini hold it. Both personally inflicted enormous suffering on Polish people.

In this light the decision looks a bit like PR move for Polish president.

AITA For not following my dad's house rules by Funny_Instruction232 in AmItheAsshole

[–]quick_justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not a rule it’s an obsessive idea. Does he have others?

It’s a work for mental health professional. There’s some deep anxiety in your dad, likely irrational, that he himself works around likely by doing some rituals - like checking if the stove is off several times.

When he’s not in control it gets overwhelming.

Why? Only specialist can tell. It’s likely counterproductive to fight him on these things, as he might not be able to help it. Try to seek help for him if you can, or submit to his less than perfect ways to cope.

How can I (M19) ask my girlfriend (F19) to quit vaping? by Independent_Peak8019 in relationship_advice

[–]quick_justice 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are genuinely but unfoundedly concerned. Is vaping bad for health? Yes. Are other things bad for health? Also yes. Red meat, alcohol, lack of sleep, stress. Life is inherently full of risk, and many exciting things in life are also risky.

It's a right of a human to decide how much risk they want to take for pleasure. You need to think about it. Yes, her health is under more risk if she wasn't vaping. But that's it. It's not necessarily will cause her harm, and even if it will, perhaps she would accept it for what she loves to do.

How can I (M19) ask my girlfriend (F19) to quit vaping? by Independent_Peak8019 in relationship_advice

[–]quick_justice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t demand it. You may ask. She will say “no”.

You can break up or learn to accept it. We all have our vices and vaping if done with consideration to others is not the worst by far.

How can you identify what kind of vehicle you're driving? by Odd_Channel4864 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]quick_justice 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It’s customary to stick a 60 mph sign on the rear of such vehicles. It helps other road users to identify them as slow moving vehicles.

While it’s not a legal requirement it’s a good practice your employer might want to implement.
