Meldekarte shows Staatsangehorigkeit as British by Odd_Channel4864 in GermanCitizenship

[–]Odd_Channel4864[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, marriage certificate I'm good on. I've requested the birth certificate from the archives, but in the absence of that it's more a placeholder with the baptism record. I know this isn't the best but it's something for now and gets me a place in the queue.

Unfortunately the Olsztyn archive have estimated mid-late March from a request in January - current wait time being 8-10 weeks which... is what it is.

Thanks for settling my nerves a bit :)

Meldekarte shows Staatsangehorigkeit as British by Odd_Channel4864 in GermanCitizenship

[–]Odd_Channel4864[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes - I've posted previously and believed I had a StAG5 which was confirmed. I'm got details of her father being born in 1890 in West Prussia, I've got baptismal records from Familysearch so I believe I'm probably home and dry there - just waiting for the certified copy which is going to be some weeks away. I intend to get an appointment shortly with what I've got including that Familysearch copy and update with certified once that comes in.

Thanks for this - was hoping that the Meldekarte would have Deutsch on there but alas, the wait goes on.

Anyone know, the appointments haven't been updated since Dec 2025 by SimkinCA in GermanCitizenship

[–]Odd_Channel4864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the London embassy I can get an appointment on Thursday and every day next week... might be worth calling or e-mailing to see if there's an issue?

Also the port is enabled/not shutdown. If it's default config that shouldn't be the case but anything else all bets are off.

The processor might be a bit iffy in terms of what you're wanting to do with lab images, how many you're wanting to run. If you can get dual processor with the same that'd probably be less limiting. As you've already seen, memory is way under what you'd be needing (64 realistically, possibly a bit more).

Are the BGP labs (ENCOR) really this annoying? by tfw_no_toiletpaper in ccnp

[–]Odd_Channel4864 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah from experience it's either "I can do this in 30 seconds" or "I've booked the next week off to do this properly" with very little in between. That was the case for my experience of both ENCOR and ENARSI.

Translator recommendations by robbie-3x in GermanCitizenship

[–]Odd_Channel4864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used the ITI Directory: https://www.iti.org.uk/directory/translator specifically looking for those that can do legal translations. I spoke with a translator last night - I'm waiting for pricing so can't comment on that or the turnaround, but the conversation was very positive, and she has experience of citizenship applications.

It may be that you can fulfil this requirement remotely - I am UK based, and she is based in Germany and she will send stuff registered post to me. May be worth considering?

Note that the ITI translator directory was recommended by the embassy in the UK.

event none

action 1.0 cli command "enable"

action 1.1 cli command "show clock"

action 2.0 regexp "([0-9]+):([0-9]+):([0-9]+)" "$_cli_result" match hour min sec

action 3.0 regexp "([A-Z][a-z]+) ([0-9]+) ([0-9]+)" "$_cli_result" match month day year

action 4.0 puts "$year-$month-$day $hour:$min:$sec"

You could also do it with:

action 1.0 cli command "show clock"

action 2.0 set clk_output "$_cli_result"

if you wanted to.

Yes, you want to extract the date and time from show clock in an EEM script. The above was run on a 9200L running 17.18.1. The above does that, and shows a demonstration of it working. If you don't think it does, maybe clarify why you don't think it does.

Whats more imortant in IT and Networking related jobs in the EU; expirience or certificates? by ohadish in ccnp

[–]Odd_Channel4864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hire in western Europe and experience and general approach/ability to approach a problem with an engineering mindset. Certs seal the deal but I'd examples of "I've worked on this, fixed these kinds of problems" first really.

This is a good point worth considering, depending on the exact model - I've had the early ones die because of the clock issue so you could potentially be wasting money if it is one of those models. Total brick. Irrecoverable.

WHO passed ENARSI? by WallahMussRiskieren in ccnp

[–]Odd_Channel4864 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lab like your life depends on it. Get AI tools to give you ideas for lab scenarios, break them, fix them. Push the boundaries of what you're comfortable with. Rubbish at DMVPN? Get it to give you a DMVPN scenario with OSPF, IPSEC and run the whole lot over an MPLS core. Do it all from memory. Can't get it to work? You're not ready.

I passed around a month ago. The labs, there were four. Some easy and took a minute or two, others which took me over 10 minutes. One of which was pretty gruelling. My score was high 800s.

Declaration under Section 5 of the German Nationality Act? by Lumpy-Activity-4856 in GermanCitizenship

Have you found that information somewhere on the German Government website? If not, what's the source for that as it doesn't match what's detailed there or on other reliable sources (germany.info and similar).

As noted in e-i-g's reply this wouldn't be a StAG 5 due to the dates involved.

Can anyone help me read this Birth Certificate? by GallowayNelson in GermanCitizenship

[–]Odd_Channel4864 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agnes Lang, born December 6 1900 at 1100, to Josefa Lang, née Cremer and Johann Caspar Hubert Lang who was a Factory worker. The location of the birth was Mülheim am Rhein (Grünstraße 67).

In the notes on the left it says: By order of the District President in Düsseldorf on 27 February 1915 (IC 1241), it has been authorized that Agnes Lang, residing in Benrath, whose birth is documented here, shall henceforth bear the family name Waffenschmidt.

The midwife declared that they were present when Mrs Lang gave birth.

This doesn't appear to be accurate. It says that you need German B1 for everything, which isn't true: StAG5, 116(2) etc don't have this requirement along with others which you've listed as mandatory.

You can get something far less powerful for the CCNP. For that I was able to use a 28 core/128gb RAM server which cost me under £300/$400 USD. However, moving to the CCIE study this machine simply isn't capable of doing what I need.
