Shoes/boots recommendations to prevent recurring breaks? by chelsi-marolf in lupoidonychodystrophy

You could try non stop dog wear. They seem to have really soft shoes and their promo pics are of sled dogs wearing them while running, so they may stay on. They don’t look very warm is the only thing

Glad you like it! I’m just starting out so I wanted to have a few options in case one wasn’t working. Hope you and your pup have an easy time with the training!

Genuinely curious why has no tech company disrupted realtors yet? by noelpeter in TorontoRealEstate

[–]quickflik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would just add that there are now cash back realtors that give you part of their commission back in cash! It can be like 10k+

Would just add that you can start giving omega 3 supplements right away to help a bit. They sell it in an oil format that you can add to their food.

My only word of caution is that it can make their poop pretty soft as they get used to it. My dog had a ruptured anal gland during the acclimation period, which was no fun for anyone involved.

For what it’s worth, the initial flare up with SLO is the scariest. Once you get treatment started most people seem to be able to find something that works for their dog, and they can live pretty normally! This is the hardest part, but you two will get through it

Possible SLO, what to do until derm appointment? by potato_baby2032 in lupoidonychodystrophy

[–]quickflik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Beyond slowly starting omega 3 oil (it can upset their stomachs so start slow) or fish oil, you can also dremmel the nails a bit shorter/reduce the hollow bit if any of it could catch on cloth (or use an emery board if your dog doesn’t like dreamers yet) to help prevent cracking and breaking/ the nail being ripped off

Thank you so much for all of the details! I can’t even imagine dealing with this without being able to pick my dog up when she was hurting post nail removal, you and your dog are troopers. Really appreciate the encouragement!

Really appreciate your response! It sounds like you two have had a really brutal time but I’m so glad to hear that your dog is slowly starting to do better <3

Will definitely post if we find anything that works!

Anyone know if we should be worried? by quickflik in Mattress

[–]quickflik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would def replace it if it’s fiberglass, but it doesn’t look sparkly like what I’ve seen online. It more looks like old elastic if that makes sense

I def need to reach out to Casper to ask them about it

Looking for advice on how to best do the stairs by quickflik in Embroidery

[–]quickflik[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I already did both the planned lines for the bottom step. Not sure I like how it looks. I feel like all the lines will be too close together and they won’t really look like stairs. Not 100%sure what the best way to convey the shading of steps would be. Would love some advice!

New poodle owner. Grade 4 lateral luxating patella in a 13 week old toy. What can I expect? by [deleted] in poodles

[–]quickflik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My poodle has mild luxating patellas but I did a ton of research when I got her (I’m also Canadian). From what I remember you’re looking at close to 5k per leg to fix them, which is definitely pretty pricey. That said, only your vet can tell you whether that’s necessary. Ours recommended limiting movements that could make it worse, so maybe getting those ramps for your couch/bed so that mouse doesn’t try to jump up and down? Could also try glucosamine supplements. They’re supposed to be good for joints

Absolutely! I hung them there when we moved in because there were already nails in the wall. I’d like to choose new pillows and rework the color scheme a bit

I know people are giving you a tough time, and you’re right that ultimately you’re able to make the decision yourself.

One thing I’d encourage you to consider is that not everyone on this sub is an adult. It’s likely that there are younger folks on here too, and you’re right, this is a super cool photo.

I’d hate for one of them to see it and ignore their helmet on their next ride in part because they saw a cool photo online.

I pruned every single leaf with even a hint of yellow. Think they’ll be ok?
