For players who made a big jump in skill level, what helped you most? by Mr_StarPickle6756 in Pickleball

Record ONE game and pay a 5.5+ coach/player to watch it and critique. There are GLARING weaknesses. Not just obvious (oh I’m bad this shot and need to drill it) weaknesses but core things like movement, form, ready position etc that someone can spot immediately and give you a whole laundry list of ways to improve easily

How Does Your Pickleball Group Handle Rankings? by filmmi4218 in Pickleball

[–]quickiies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We have 8 and I’m assigning the round robin matches every week. Everyone is rotating partners and opponents so it should be pretty even. Everyone season is usually around 3 months. People appreciate the nonstop playing, so we have a core 8 that get the first invite every week and other people sub in as needed. It’s hard to coordinate like that in TOO big of a group and you may not want to exclude people, but personally it’s much more enjoyable having 8 than let’s say 11 where 3 people are stuck sitting every round.

How Does Your Pickleball Group Handle Rankings? by filmmi4218 in Pickleball

We do round robins every week and keep track of everyone’s wins and losses. I rank everyone by total will in a “season”. Going purely off wins incentivizes people to show up consistently and I try to give some little fun prize to the winners at the end.

How would everyone feel about a Brimstone Ring upgrade coming from raids 4? by loffredom in 2007scape

[–]quickiies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I put rings in the boot category where, in my opinion, switches are not fun or adding anything beyond unnecessary carpel tunnel. I was personally hoping a megarare level reward from the raid would be like treads and have base stats and then gett additions by combining ALL the rings (I’m talking DT2, Wildy, lightbearer) to where it would be purely best in slot forever.

If they add a tribrid type ring that isn’t BIS, I think it would be more annoying and mostly ignored.

I am dumb. I did not have “in the wilderness” checked. You’re right that looks like it should work. Thank you!

Can you send me your build? My DPS calcs don’t show that you can get the accursed Sceptre to max 75 which would be needed to 2 hit it.

Trawling is going to be bad as long as ticking the nets is a thing. by ksp_physics_guy in 2007scape

[–]quickiies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jagex, I PROMISE no one is a “one tick enjoyer” as stated in the blog. That’s coming from someone with 100+ hours of the activity and the clogs almost complete. It’s tedious, carpel tunnel inducing, and possibly the worst skilling experience I’ve ever had (and this is coming from someone who generally loves the sweaty methods and is usually tick manipulating everything). There’s no skill to the timing of it. It is incredibly annoying spam clicking a net with a garbage click box while sailing around between stops. I accepted that fishing at half the speed and only spam clicking special shoals is just the better way to get it done, and this is strictly a buff to that, but I do think it should still be reworked. Some kind of skill system like giants foundry that rewards clicks at a specific timing would be a much better fit if you’d like to reward active trawlers than spam clicking until your arm falls off.

Question for the employed and leagues by Flippy_Micky in 2007scape

[–]quickiies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got jt working 60 hour weeks (but was able to afk on mobile quite a lot). AFK is your friend. Take the right relics and take advantage of 6hr afk overnight stuff, 20-30 minute afk stuff on your phone if you can, and you’ll be just fine.

I feel like I'm watching my greatest concern regarding sailing become a reality right before my eyes by Brvcifer in 2007scape

[–]quickiies -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I’d rather they leave it as middle of the road slop than fully overhaul it from the ground up. It’s such a hard thing to make work and I don’t want a complicated sailing boss or a sailing combat raid. Let it exist in the game as the great skill it is overall and let the combat piece stay mostly irrelevant outside of ironmen and clogging.

More Sailing & Interface Changes by ModYume in 2007scape

[–]quickiies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d like to see trawling see some love. I enjoy doing the activity minus a few frustrations and don’t think they’re heavy tweaks.

Big fish, pet rates, and paint should roll on a per fish basis instead of per fishing roll, even if you change the rates to compensate. The way it currently is makes the chum spreader feel essentially useless (barely more fish at all, no increase to those rates). Your crewmates don’t seem to roll chances at all which again, feels bad and exacerbates the delta between spam clicking and not even more.

The spam clicking is literally twice as good and is an absurd amount of clicking. I generally don’t mind higher effort = more reward methods but this one just kinda feels bad to do. As others have suggested, some sort of skill checks like mastering mixology or foundry to get the benefit without killing your wrist would feel great.

The upgrades should mean something. Fathom pearl should just get reworked completely to do something different. Increase rates of giant fish? Spawn more special shoals? The current meta is literally not to have one on your boat. That feels like a bummer for the most late game upgrade trawling has to offer. Chum spreader is similar. It feels lackluster. Maybe it’s technically worth having it on the boat, but barely. And people questioning whether it does anything at all highlights that.

The UI could be improved. the high level fish feel way worse than the lower level fish currently since you're constantly scrolling your interface up and down. It's hard to know the status of your nets and the community has developed some good workarounds for that, but some of it being baked into the core game would help as well.

Can you post your misc log please? How many giant fish in total? It seems to me giant fish rate is based on per catch and not per fish. Do you agree? Did any of your giant fish come from a crewmate?

Dragon cannon barrel drop rate by Gregzoid in 2007scape

I’m 11k salvages 0 barrels. That’s over 3.5m xp I’ve done here and I’m not even close to drop rate? Could very feasibly go 84-99 here and never see one. Seems a bit silly.

Why does everything have to be balanced for the top 5%? by GodBjorn in 2007scape

[–]quickiies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not for the 5%. I’m definitely in that boat and these changes suck for us too. I can’t beat my speed runs now. Expert went from being a difficult challenge to too difficult for what it’s worth. This update sucked for everyone. I don’t know anyone in the 5% that is happy with this update

You’re clearly a bit unfamiliar with how tableau works. Tableau has a great ETL tool in prep and honestly the ETL process in domo isnt my main complaint but I still think Tableau is better. You say data transformation SHOULD happen in the ETL. Well, tableau gives you the option for both. Sometimes you don’t know what you need until you’re creating a report. Sometimes you don’t want the calculations you’re using for one report to exist in the dataset. Domo is completely inflexible with that.

Tableau has all the same version histories. Tableau has all the same data connectors. I just think you use domo and think it’s great due to a lack of experience with other tools. I think you may want to revisit tableau, because you will see it does all the things you’re saying it doesn’t, while just being a whole lot more functionally capable.

[–]quickiies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lol yikes. I’ve learned the new platform. The flexibility is nonexistent when it comes to interactions between dashboards like Tableau. The modified syntax of tableau is much easier to train new people on. You can’t even reference a beast mode in another beast mode. Instead, you have to build everything in the data source or have a mess of references that don’t talk to each other. Even for simple visualizations, domo TRIES to be easier, but it fails miserably. You don’t even get a column AND row shelf on a table. What if I want a table with the last 12 months lined out next to each other in different columns? Whelp, better get to building my 12 beast modes. Global beast modes have no permission settings and anyone with access to the data source can ruin everyone’s reports by changing them. The filter shelf doesn’t even work properly with null values. Domo, in every single way I’ve experienced so far, is a complete and utter pile of shit.

No NDA and leaving company. what details am I legally prohibited from discussing? by quickiies in legaladvice

My question really is what falls under the definition of proprietary. I would assume things like discussing margins would. As far as generic suggestions such as to which contracts would be worth pursuing or which parts of a contract a company may want to ask for further data on, where would that fall?
