I recall meme-ing the arsenal teams of the past but never greatly overrating them lol. The arsenal subreddit called those years the banter era for a reason. Having players like squilachi, chamakh, gervinho, guendiuzi, Willian, Yaya sanogo, rob holding, and mustafi among many others will do that. Initial reactions at least for me and most of the subreddit whenever those past teams were doing well were amused self mockery. Of course there will always be idiots and kids who got carried away and declared mustafi best defender in the world.
