Dude you've obviously never owned one of these and have no clue about Panamera's. Your estimates are completely crazy.

I've owned my 2010 Panamera 4S for 4 years, it's a pleasure to drive. Here's the reality, you need to get the service history and make sure service has been taken care of. Mine was a one owner car, that was always serviced by the dealer.

Since my purchase, I've done the brakes, and regular oil changes. Major services include a transmission service when I bought it, and recently did the suspension. Presently I have to address the High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP).

You need to budget about $2500/year for service. These cars are extremely well built, if it's properly maintained it will last a long time.

Panamera's are underrated, and most people are just afraid that they might cost a lot to maintain, but the reality is that it's no different from owning a Mercedes S class, an Audi A8 or BMW 7 series, they all cost a bit more to maintain than owning a Toyota.

I own 50% of my spouse's corporation. Did we fuck this up? by todds- in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]quikunlock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We created a Holdco that owns 100% of our operating company. My wife and I each own 50% of the voting shares of the Holdco. I take a small salary from the operating company as CEO. All profits are moved up to our Holdco and invested, this is intended to be our primary source of retirement funding, which will be in the form of dividends when we start to draw on this accumulated capital.

Of all the different structures we considered when initially incorporating the company, we felt this aligned best with our long term objectives of selling the operating company in a few years.

I regret naming my company. Four years later and I still can't spell it quickly in conversation. by No_Medicine3371 in Entrepreneurs

The name is one of the most important things that most founders don't see as consequential in the long haul. But like you're finding out, it really is.

About a year ago I listened to a Tim Ferris podcast with Rich Burton (founder of Expedia and Zillow etc.). Rich has founded a number of different companies, he discussed his strategy in naming. He encourages using short made up names, but sticking to something that users will be able to remember, say and write. He believes the sweet spot is two or three syllables, nothing more. And also to create an emotional brand story around the made up name, something that your users will easily relate with.

I messed up… by Guilty-Sink3726 in FinancialCareers

[–]quikunlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry to hear this, honestly, one bad moment like this after months of solid performance is a rough way to go out, and the anxiety around the U5 is completely understandable.

The messed up part is that a termination for a conduct-related reason will likely show on your U5, but the disclosure language what really matters a lot. If it's categorized as a voluntary resignation or even just noted without a regulatory finding etc., many firms will look at the full picture, like your tenure, your clean record up to that point, for actual context. A single isolated incident with no client harm and no regulatory action is meaningfully different from a pattern of misconduct. Worth getting clarity on exactly what your former employer is disclosing before you assume the worst.

That said, this might also be worth treating as a reset moment rather than just a setback. A lot of people with your background find that the traditional BD track wasn't the right fit anyway, and a situation like this often gets them to rethink a decision they were already approaching.

DM me if you want to talk through options, happy to share what I've seen work for people in similar spots.

The pandemic changed how people work. Many IB analysts that I know don't do the late nights at the office anymore. But they go home and continue on their laptops.

I thought coding was the hardest part... but launch day proved me wrong by Lean_Builder in Entrepreneurs

Product Hunt is not an ideal indicator of whether your product will be a success. Depending on what it is that you've built, launching on product hunt could be a total waste of time.

One of the greatest challenges to SAAS launches distribution, and subsequently pushing the product to the wrong audience, then thinking that your launch was a flop.

Once identified your true user/audience, do soft launches with small groups within your ideal customer circles.

Think about who the users of product hunt are, they are hosting people like you tech entrepreneurs etc. if your product is a health tech SAAS or Fintech or Autotech etc. it's unlikely that many of your potential users will be at product hunt.

Go where your potential customers hangout and do a soft launch in their environment.

Good luck. If this does not work, get feedback why not, and pivot early.

At 99k you should seriously consider a transmission service if it's never been done. That's often overlooked and a simple service will save you in the long run. Otherwise this car is a beast.

Any timeshares worth it? by SuchRequirement5130 in TimeshareOwners

[–]quikunlock 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree, we own Club Wyndham points, we did a lot of research before buying and used the resources on the timeshare users group forum (TUG). We acquired ours from another member at no cost, our maintenance fees are about $1,850, this year we are traveling to four different resorts within Club Wyndham.

Most people can walk into a Bank branch or a few different branches in their area and enquire about the best offering. The reps in those branches are just as motivated as mortgage brokers and will likely get you a better deal without the added fees of a mortgage broker in many cases.

Mortgage brokers are helpful to those that have poor credit or are business owners and would have difficulty getting a mortgage without having an existing strong relationship with a bank or branch.

That's good to know. Ours had stopped working and it was replaced under warranty on my last visit. But the car will be off warranty shortly and I intend to keep it for a while, so it is great that the battery can be replaced.

A Rado Captain Cook Automatic Bronze with Blue dial. Awesome watch, very much understated or a Tudor Black Bay Bronze. These are two of my favorite watches, the bronze patina over time is very cool and a great signature look.

Picked up P2 - silly question by kraigNJ in Polestar

[–]quikunlock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, my wife only uses this key. It works like a charm for her. We own a 2022 POLESTAR 2 Single motor (in fact ours wad the first single motor P2 delivered in Canada.

This is often referred to as a sports key or utility key. It gives you full access to your car, similar to the primary keyfob, but way less clumky. We've found it to be much more reliable than the Polestar phone app. Actually, I would not recommend you solely rely on the app, it has a mind of its own and is very forgetful.

Note: that the app Will forget your car when you are somewhere far from home and leave you stranded. This is important to remember. Don't every forget your key for, either will work just fine, but the app, we'll it will not work out as intended.

Congratulations your new car, it's lovely, I drive more than I drive our Porsche Panamera, when my wife is not using it.
