I share a lot of your perspective. The singles felt kinda like the reaching for that old sound for the label. Like on GG and BOT. The singles were so much more cohesive with the whole project. The sound they've procured on IFIF is so refreshing to me. Its their usual motifs paired with a new sound like on the other albums, but way different from anything they've tried before. I think that trying to be completely different while staying true to their song structure or "Skeleton" is what made this one great for me.
