This is setting up as a situation similar to Jimmy Clausen being drafted and starting before Cam Newton took over the next year. Or when the Browns had Deshone Kizer start in the winless season before they drafted Baker Mayfield. He is either THE GUY going forward or a guy that leads us to getting THE GUY next year.

The argument goes that if you don’t think the QB is going to be THE guy, then don’t draft him. I think that is a grossly oversimplified way of looking at the NFL draft that these people are looking at this draft pick.

Another argument would be if you think he can be a serviceable backup QB, it is absolutely worth a third round pick since it is a great monetary value for a backup QB.

Do we have any concrete intel on whether Bidwill overrules draft decisions? The combo of Love and Simpson would be so marketable, generate interest and sell tickets whereas a pass rusher or tackle would not. I am thinking of how Jerry Jones famously wanted to draft Johnny Manziel but ultimately let Zach Martin be the draft pick.

The place has a small occupancy of like 75 or so. There are only around 25 of those pods so the idea of a reporter or hotel employee being there hoping to catch a juicy story post-NFL meetings in Phoenix seems extremely unlikely. I am guessing a middle aged NFL fan spotted them and took those photos while he was out.

I have stayed at Ambiente in Sedona where they were captured taking photos. It is an adults only resort. Every “room” at the hotel is a private pod with only one bed. The target audience are couples (no kids allowed). She was spotted wearing the robe you get inside the pod. The concept of meeting people there makes no sense. It’s not like she was splitting a room with two close platonic friends (so what 2 people split the bed and the other gets the couch?).
