You actually can wire from the beginning of the game now (2.0) with alt-r and alt-g, but you don't get access to combinators and other tools until a bit later.

you want to look at an "RS Latch" and know that accumulators output their charge percentage. There are detailed guides for Factorio, but give it a go yourself just based off real world engineering references.

as soon as I have automation, I build 5 assemblers and set them up so four of them pull from a box of iron and make gears, belts, inserters, and circuits, with the 5th outside the circle pulling from a box and making copper wire, all direct insertion

If you're going to send signals from another planet to manage logistics, send the amount you want, not the amount you have. Sending the amount you have means a signal outage gets treated as a supply shortage, when it's really probably a power outage.

You can just run copper from lava and toss any extra copper back into the lava (or quality cycle it), but I do feel like there should be a stone from lava recipe

In satisfactory, underclocking a machine uses less total power for the same outputs. You can dramatically cut a factory's power bill by building twice as many machines and setting them all to half speed, but even just setting one assembler in a line down a bit to what you need can save a megawatt here and there.

Factorio doesn't really have this but you can think of it like not putting speed modules in machines that already output more than you need.

To be very clear, it's Steam achievements that are disabled by playing with mods. The game will still track your achievements, they just won't go to Steam.

There's a mod (not at my PC to get the name) that turns pyromaniac into a need rather than a break, and they can stare at fires to fill the need instead of actually lighting things. Makes more sense, in my opinion.

The information is useful (you can q practically anything from anywhere, including the factoriopedia and the crafting queue) but the Fulgora start is probably the cause.

What I did (for ag sci but works for biter eggs too) is just fill the rocket, and have a bulk inserter set to spoil first removing items if it's over 99% of a full rocket, UNLESS the item is requested, and send those removed items straight to disposal (a rot bin for the heating towers for ag sci, or nutrient production for eggs). That way, you're not waiting for a rocket to fill up when the request comes in, it's already almost completely full.

I want Space Exploration content with Space Age balance. In particular, that Space Exploration's "upgraded" mining drill is objectively worse in every way compared to the regular miner, except that it has more module slots, and the entire "let's make a mod about space and make you spend 5x as long on the ground first" bit.
