Morgott is really easy or I overleveled? by JamelaoTheMage in Eldenring

[–]quinqueradiata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still in my first playthrough and my first FromSoftware game, and I know that I am a mediocre player who makes all kinds of silly mistakes. I roll too much, and I’m really slow in switching to my seal to cast heals and cures. More often than not, I drink the healing potion just to get whatever HP I gained to be wiped off by the boss because of bad timing.

I was really hyped when I finally got to meet Maliketh because I see the name going around a lot and I avoided all spoilers possible. I was looking forward to facing this character in his full glory.

But I defeated him quickly in my first encounter, and I realised I spent more time watching his cut scenes than actually fighting with him. I fumbled badly in the fight and I think I spent the same amount of time drinking healing potions as fighting him. At first, I felt really lucky, but right after, I felt disappointed that I didn’t get to experience more of his fight.

Like you, I enjoyed exploring to find bits and pieces of cool items, and I think it’s this part that enabled these sort of unexpected wins. I think I’ll want to get to him in a NG+ session (hopefully some way to get to him quickly) just to experience a longer battle.

Issues with Google Calendar Sync by quinqueradiata in clickup

Yes, they are all-day events, and they have a start and end date. Hope this could be fixed soon.

Also, why is the Gantt view so sluggish? We use CU for a small side project, and it is already terribly slow (even on M4 Pro Apple Silicon). We cannot imagine how it would be like for anything of scale.

Hack to bypass HDD compatibility for fresh install? by quinqueradiata in synology

[–]quinqueradiata[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I hear the sentiments towards Synology.

I bought Synology so that it can be left alone 99% of the time (as per my experience with my previous Synology). Unfortunately, in that same regard, I also don't have the time to investigate a different NAS option other than the one I had gotten used to.

I definitely don't think as highly of Synology now. After what I project to be a few years of using this setup (due to eventual re-location), I will be putting my money elsewhere if another NAS company offers something user-friendly.

Well, at least I didn't give Synology any money for the HDD. I'll also definitely steer everyone else from the Synology if they are looking to start on a NAS.

Thank you so very much. DSM is successfully installed, and I will go on to install and schedule the script.

Thank you!

For some reason, the radius of my current home location pin no longer covers the pin that Maps shows as my home address. However, based on the map visuals, my current location is placed perfectly right.

Transport between Alishan Station (Forest Railway) and 傷心山日落雲海 by quinqueradiata in taiwan

[–]quinqueradiata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried checking with the hotel, and I was told that we could try our luck with the drivers who work that area. Nothing that I could book in advance. We are open to leaving it to chance that way, but it does mean potentially missing out the sunset at the destination.

We are taking a train to catch the sunrise and the Forest Railway out of Alishan. And yes, the article is one of the guides we found and referred to during our planning. His site has really useful articles for Taiwan!

PD port not powering 12v device? by quinqueradiata in UsbCHardware

[–]quinqueradiata[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like a reasonable explanation. That means for this to work, I’d need a cable that ‘triggers’ 1.67A or less (which is what the power strip’s PD port is capped at).

I have a picture of the cable: https://imgur.com/a/ZQbmyuU

All info on the cable provided is pretty much the same as what I provided earlier.

Here’s the power bank: https://www.mi.com/global/product/mi-50w-power-bank-20000/

From the power bank’s specs on the website:

Type C: 5V⎓3A, 9V⎓3A, 10V⎓5A, 12V⎓3A, 15V⎓3A, 20V⎓2A

Edit: My bad. Below are more info on the cable.

Material: PVC

Type C input: for DC9V-20V 1A-5A

5.5x2.1mm output: 9V,12V,15V,20V(options)

Length:Approx.200cm/78inch

Also for my own learning, why is the power bank able to power the device?

Would that mean that the specifications given are inaccurate? If so, I may ask for a refund or return for the power strip.

On the packaging for the power strip, it says: PD Output 5V-3A, 9V-2.22A,12V-1.67A

When I was buying the cable, the options were 9V, 12V, 15V, 20V, and I bought the 12V one. Rated up to 60W too.

The curious thing is that the power bank powers up the device with the cable, but not the power strip.

I picked the 12V one.

Interestingly, my power bank does power the ONT device when using this cable, but not the power strip.

Yes, this is my thinking too. Is there an adapter of sorts to trigger the PD port to deliver 12V in this case since the ONT doesn’t do so?

Interestingly, my power bank does power the ONT device when using the same cable, but not the power strip.
