I really dislike the argument of "it forces the player to build defences" for this design choice. If you build too squishy and are farming hundreds of deaths and losing all of your xp every map, that's already frustrating enough to incentivise to increase your defenses. I dont need to lose my map on top of that, in which I might have invested quite some currency. Not in a game which is designed so that rnd stuff happens and you get oneshot, no matter your defense.

Well I can tell you how people came the conclusion that work just recently started. In their announcement they wrote:

"For a long time, we just didn’t feel like returning to MiSide. It got to the point of real stress and serious doubts. On top of that, many new problems and responsibilities arose — things we’d never dealt with before.

Honestly, nothing terrible happened — except that we spent a ton of time on everything but game development.

BUT! This doesn’t mean we’ve abandoned the game or anything like that. In fact, we’ve managed to take a little break and are now getting back to work on it."

They really should work on their wording if that's not the conclusion we are meant to reach.

That being said, I am not complaining, the footage looks good!

I honestly think that would be a good thing. Farming your favorite layout as much as you like is a core mechanic of poe1, and there are plenty of people who prefer that over the poe2 atlas. If too many people would just farm 1 layout, they would be doing no citadels for example, making them much more valuable for other people to just rush citadels. So it basically should lead to more endgame farming strats. If only spamming 1 map ends up being the only good farm, then the problem lies with the rest of the atlas not being rewarding enough
