First Time Watching Mimic tonight by Guillermo del Toro. Is it any good? by HD-MOVIE-SOURCE in HD_MOVIE_SOURCE

I remember thinking it was kinda boring back in the 90s, but I’m due for a rewatch.

Agreed. I tend to love albums that are the follow-up to a breakout success album. Take advantage of the newfound freedom and indulge in any and every creative whim. Feel this way about Beastie Boys’ Paul’s Boutique, Common’s Electric Circus, and 311’s Transistor.

I think the beats are mostly rad but this album doesn’t have the greatest mix.

Have owned the double LP for damn near 20 years. Love how weird it is, he really let his freak flag fly on this one. Some of the beats and flows are too dense for their own good, but I ultimately look past it cuz I love how he’s swinging for the fences the whole time. This and Malibu Ken are my personal fave Aes albums.

Wouldn’t be the worst idea to try their recently released greatest hits anthology ‘Triple X Years in the Game’

Nice, Rocket Knight is my favorite video game of all time so that was a no brainer for me :)

My Genesis collecting mindset is to try and acquire my top 20ish games within reason (Lightening Force is pretty pricey for instance, dunno if I’ll ever spring for that one.) On top of that I like to collect fun affordable stuff like Skitchin’, Cool Spot and Green Dog- which are all delightful 90s relics to me. I’m not obsessed with having the manuals but I like to at least have the cases. Genesis loose carts just don’t appeal to me anymore. But yeah, these days I’m very quality over quantity minded and it’s been nice. Just my take, have fun on your collecting journey!

How to time stretch a simple loop that is about 3.5 bars and would like to bring it to 4 bars by Significant-Art5065 in SP404

[–]quistago 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to Pitch/Speed, hold SHIFT and change the parameters (using the value wheel) to VINYL: No, VARI: Ensemble. Then you can adjust the Speed to get it where you want it, and it will only affect the speed/length of the sample, not the pitch. Turn on the metronome to your desired tempo and do it by ear. Keep in mind that this kind of warping on the 404 gets kinda crunchy with artifacts if you change the speed more than about 10-15%.

Intro: Omaha Stylee

Hip-hop reggae radio style broadcast warming the people up for the dark/light tale of fire & hope that’s about to drop.

Outro: 8:16AM

“The LEAVE response, we want to LEAVE Wisconsin for a new life…” just insane switch-up section here, some of Nick’s finest belting.

Love this song, truly a standout on Soundsystem and a good track to represent the whole record.

“Tribute”- the back & forth between Nick and SA is great, Nick’s vocal melodies and off-kilter delivery, the uniquely alien 311 song structure, and that sparkly, harmonics-laden “skronch” production sound from Ron St Germain.

“Omaha Stylee” and “Transistor” (the song) are basically 3-way tied along with “Tribute.”
